On the rooftop three hundred meters away.
When Catwoman and Poison Ivy were getting intimate, Baia and the system were equally shocked.
Shocked as they were, Baia, with a bewildered expression, promptly helped Selina dispel the mind-controlling effect of Poison Ivy's "Deadly Kiss," and provided continuous healing for Selina.
Because of the distance, Baia could only witness the sudden collapse of the glass dome, followed by a frenzy of vines, with the two well-built women rolling together, sharing a kiss. Then, Catwoman seemed to slap Poison Ivy, before throwing her against the wall. Baia had no idea how Selina, with such violence, graded her retaliation against Poison Ivy, who was over eighteen years old.
Of course, this was also why Selina intentionally placed Baia so far away.
Nevertheless, the scene was still very impactful.
System: This... This is why you'll die if you don't get stronger.
Baia: Is this what Selina sister's nightlife is like...?
Moon Dew continuously took effect on Selina, her skin, pierced by Poison Ivy's thorns, quickly returned to its pristine state. However, her chest was still heaving violently; her endurance was limited after all.
"Batman, you're just in time," Selina stood up, releasing Ivy's hair. Her claws were stained with a lot of liquid, whether it was Ivy's blood or the fluid from the vines, she didn't know. Twisting her fingertips, she felt the hatred and anger in her heart vented well. Then, she spoke slowly.
The red-haired woman, who had been thrown to the ground, groaned in pain. She was about to summon vines to entangle Catwoman's ankles when a Batarang pierced her face.
"The game is over, Ivy," the tall figure of the man did not immediately respond to Catwoman's words. He warned coldly.
Poison Ivy glared resentfully at the black-uniformed, pointed-eared duo, but surprisingly, she didn't resist further.
Selina didn't mind either; she certainly knew Batman's temperament. She said lightly, "Then, she's all yours, no need to thank me."
With that, she swung her whip around a steel bar on the dome and, without any interest in continuing the conversation, swayed a few times before leaving Batman's sight.
"Selina," Batman sighed helplessly, but it was unable to retain the determined departure of the big cat.
He had many questions for Catwoman, who had been restless lately. However, he couldn't just leave Poison Ivy here like this. After a moment of consideration, he chose to first take Ivy onto the Batmobile and send her back to Arkham.
Come after me.
When Selina left his sight, the implicit message of that graceful figure was like this.
If he didn't, then she would wait for him.
Baia asked the system, "Can you smell the scent of melon?"
System: I've already written the script. Batman and Catwoman are the original couple, with Poison Ivy forcefully intervening. When Catwoman went to settle the score with Poison Ivy, she unexpectedly fell in love at first sight with her. After Selina realized, she was both shocked and angry. How dare you seduce me, woman—
Baia: Just shut up.
Ding. The system failed to shut up and popped up a bunch of prompts, jingling like Christmas songs.
The host has completed the hidden mission [No Refusal] and successfully assisted Selina Kyle in defeating Poison Ivy, obtaining the skill card [Rose's Kiss].
[Rose's Kiss]: After kissing a hostile target, there is a 75% chance that the target will fall into a state of sleep, a 20% chance of falling into a coma, and a 5% chance of being mind-controlled; the duration depends on the target's level of determination, and this skill card can only be used once.
Baia was shocked, "?? I don't understand. Can you say it again, what happens after kissing what target?"
System: Even you have moments when you don't understand... No, that's not right; I am an all-age system.
But it quickly realized: Kissing isn't necessary!
Baia: Ugh, forget it.
System: You won't even kiss someone like Poison Ivy?
Baia: Where did all these sisters come from? Keep this skill card hidden away for me; it's too undignified.
System: You're in... Ding!
Selina Kyle's favorability reached standard, and [Catwoman] shared an active talent with you.
[Cat's Dance]: Enter stealth mode in non-combat situations, undetectable by Earth organic beings, lasts for 5 minutes, CD 1 minute, using the skill will cancel stealth mode.
Note: Cats are very narrow-minded animals, and this talent cannot be used in conjunction with certain other talents.
System: Invincible! Selina is indeed... Ding!
[Newbie Task: Know Your City (3)] Task goal [Reach teammate standard favorability with a superhero] is completed in advance, and task reward is directly distributed: 5 skill points.
System: And there's this kind of... Ding! Congratulations on completing all the beginner's guide tasks. The task mode will now change to random triggering, and the system will not release mainline tasks for a short period.
Both fell into a brief silence.
The system lamented bitterly, "I'm so difficult."
Baia rested her chin on her hand. "Are you really a system? Why don't you know what you want to say?"
The system replied, "I was planning to pop up the prompt later, but can you control your hiccups when you speak?"
Because the system felt too embarrassed, it surprisingly didn't nag anymore for a while, leaving Baia feeling lonely.
In the navy blue night sky, two black figures streaked past, one after the other, creating a graceful arc between the buildings. It wasn't like a cheetah chasing a gazelle but more like two wild beasts playing; their speed was leisurely. Batman didn't particularly enjoy Gotham's nights; during patrols, he saw countless tragedies. But this was a rare moment of relaxation he occasionally enjoyed.
He was familiar with Gotham's skyline and streets, just like he was with his own heartbeat and breath.
Slowly, the chase between the Bat and the Cat reached its climax.
A tall wall. With Selina's abilities, she could easily hook onto the rooftop railing with her whip or simply use her sharp claws to climb up the bricks. Yet, she lazily stood still.
Allowing the Dark Knight to press her against the wall.
"Hmm, you caught me, Detective," Selina prodded the bat symbol on the man's chest with her claw. "What do you want to ask?"
That indescribable atmosphere quickly dissipated, and the smile at the corner of Batman's mouth seemed like an illusion.
"Half a month ago," he asked, "you 'borrowed' the Agar Heart."
The Agar Heart, an invaluable pink diamond. In nearly ten years, no diamond mine had produced a gem with such high purity and carat weight. It was supposed to appear at the end-of-month auction. But who could resist the cat's love for shiny little things?
Ignoring the disapproving look from the Dark Knight, Selina played with the tip of her claws and nodded lightly.
Batman sighed heavily, "We agreed not to do this anymore. If you need money, I can—"
"You seem to have misunderstood something," Catwoman interrupted impatiently. "It was your unilateral decision; I didn't agree. And I don't need money—at least not recently."
The Dark Knight looked at her sternly. "Then why? What's the reason for catching my attention?"
"Are you treating me like your second son?" Under her goggles, Selina rolled her eyes, looking a bit annoyed. "Of course, you've always been so self-righteous."
The most ineffective communication in the world was between Batman and Catwoman when she refused to cooperate.
"You have to give it back."
"I'd like to, but unfortunately, it's no longer in my possession," Selina said cheerfully.
"For a collection of that caliber, it's impossible to let go so quickly—"
"Stop. Who said I sold it?" She crossed her arms, annoyed. "I just gave it away."
"Gave it away," Batman repeated emotionlessly.
"Gave it away," Selina kindly confirmed for Batman.
"Wait a minute," suddenly, as if remembering something, she slapped her forehead in regret, "Now that you mention it, I think I left something somewhere. Oh my, I have to make an excuse."
Selina forgot something?
She forgot about Baia.
When Catwoman was eager to leave, it was difficult for the Dark Knight to keep her. After patrolling the downtown area again, the Batmobile, with a low roar, rushed into the Batcave.
"Tim," Batman took off his helmet, revealing sweaty black hair and a handsome face, walking quickly, throwing his uniform pieces on the floor, "I need your help."
Tim rubbed his temples, knowing what was coming. "Okay, about what?"
"Catwoman."
"Baby Baia, I'm so sorry, I promise this won't happen again, really!" Selina guiltily helped Baia, who had just come out of the bathroom, dry her hair.
Baia's response was a sneeze, her eyes reddened with grievances.
It was only then that she realized how resilient superheroes were, coming and going like the wind in thin clothes in the cold winter. Meanwhile, she sat on the rooftop in the chilly October wind of Gotham for several hours, proudly catching a cold.
When Selina returned, not knowing what had happened, she forcibly grabbed the black cat that passed by with its tail up and stuffed it into Baia's arms. The fluffy black cat felt Baia's abnormal body temperature and curled up stiffly in her arms, whimpering and grumbling at Selina.
Catwoman and the black cat glared angrily at each other for a while before simultaneously turning their heads away.
