The Northern City Reservoir, located to the north of Yanjing City, is backed by an extensive mountainous region and covers an area of hundreds of square kilometers. The scenery of the mountains and waters here is as poetic and picturesque as one could imagine, incredibly beautiful.
Especially on the west side of the reservoir lies a vast natural red maple forest. Though it is only early summer now, the leaves are already as red as fire. Seen from afar, it appears like a sea of flames, becoming a scenic spot famous near Yanjing City.
In the past, every day a large number of Yanjing's citizens would drive to the reservoir to enjoy themselves, either fishing or having a picnic, or just strolling around the red maple forest to snap a few photos to take home.
However, today the weather wasn't cooperating. It had been clear before noon, but suddenly, heavy rain began to pour down in the afternoon, causing all the visitors to leave, and not a single one could be seen near the reservoir.
