Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Give me the money for the room_1

The outstanding performance of the Lamborghini came into play at this moment; with a roar, it disappeared from everyone's sight in an instant. Meanwhile, the several guys inside the house were all silently cheering for Chen Hao.

"Brother Hao, you've got to hang in there! If you get tired, it's no big deal, we'll come pick you up in our cars!"

After getting into the car, Chen Hao took the passenger seat, leaned back slightly, and then buckled his seat belt. Only then did he comfortably shrug his shoulders and, tilting his head to look at the woman, said, "Changing into a different outfit really makes you look completely different. No wonder so many people nowadays love 'keeping up appearances.'"

The woman said nothing in response, instead glaring fiercely at him and snorting coldly as she continued to drive.

Watching the woman beside him, Chen Hao was actually reminiscing about the passion-filled scene from last night. The woman who was now icy cold, looking down on others as if she were above them all, was completely different from the seductively charming woman from the night before; it was like they were two different people.

"Hey, so where are we going? If it takes too long, you'll have to pay me, or my company will dock my wages. It's hard for a common guy like me to make money," Chen Hao said with a smile, looking at her.

The woman could no longer restrain herself and suddenly slammed on the brakes!

Screech!

The car stopped, and Chen Hao broke out in a cold sweat—he was thankful he had put on his seat belt, otherwise, he'd have smacked his head against the windshield.

"Can't you stop with all the useless chatter?" the woman snapped, turning to fix Chen Hao with a glare, her chest heaving with a 36C rage, her face cold enough to frost.

But Chen Hao just laughed and retorted, "A person's got a mouth for talking, right? And have I been spouting nonsense? I get on your car, yet you don't tell me where we're going."

"To buy clothes!" she threw out the words and turned her head away.

To buy clothes?

A thought amused Chen Hao. Is it because you threw up on me last night that now you want to make it up by buying me an outfit?

"Let's forget about buying clothes. My outfit isn't worth much; I can just wash it myself. Besides, there's the 50 yuan driving fee from yesterday and the 500 yuan for the hotel room, which I paid for. Just give me that, and we're square."

The woman was so angry she wanted to kick this guy out of her car. In her deep, bright eyes, one could vaguely see the flames dancing.

Li Bingshuang, oh Li Bingshuang, keep your cool. This guy in front of you is just a lowlife hooligan. Don't stoop to his level. Focus on what you need to do—that's what's important. Otherwise, the loss in the end will be immeasurable.

Chen Hao, however, was slightly unnerved by her stare and said rather awkwardly, "Those 500 yuan for the room, I really did pay them myself. If you don't believe me, you can go ask at the hotel."

"You want money, is that it?" Li Bingshuang was furious inside, but to achieve her goal, she couldn't help but relent. She quickly pulled out a stack of bills from her bag and chucked them at Chen Hao's face, sending the banknotes scattering all over the cabin.

"Hey, that's not right. I may be asking you for money, but I am in the right. I only asked for 550 yuan, and I don't want a penny more," said Chen Hao as he dodged the flying money, picked up a few notes from the seat, and asked again, "Do you have a fifty? I can't make change."

"That's enough!" Li Bingshuang finally couldn't contain herself anymore and shouted, "Don't ever mention last night again! You're forbidden from bringing it up for the rest of your life. Now let's go buy those clothes!"

"Fine, if you can't change this fifty then consider it a loss. Wealthy folks like you fretting over a mere few hundred bucks from us poor people... Ah, this world..." Chen Hao pocketed the 500 yuan, then nonchalantly slipped it into his bag, appearing entirely satisfied.

Li Bingshuang felt like she was about to explode from anger and pointed at Chen Hao, yelling, "Chen Hao, you are the most shameless, the most despicable person I have ever encountered, without a doubt! Do you honestly think that after going to a hotel with a woman, it's the woman who should pay for the room?"

"Hey, let's get one thing straight. What do you mean I should pay for the hotel?" Chen Hao said, suddenly taking offense.

This woman's look was as if she could devour him. All he did was find a hotel for her to rest in because she was too drunk last night to tell him where she lived.

From the look in her eyes, you'd think I hit it and quit it without paying my dues.

Am I that kind of person?

"And when did I become shameless and despicable? Could it be that you, a rich person who drives a multimillion-dollar car, really have to quibble over a few hundred yuan with me? I paid for you, and now you're paying me back—it's only fair! Given your behavior right now, I'm going to take back my 50 yuan for the driving service. Hand it over—fifty bucks!"

Chen Hao, too, was a bit upset now, stretching out his hand towards Li Bingshuang, defiant and insistent.

Li Bingshuang had always been above others, never encountering someone so unreasonable. Thinking about what happened last night, she suddenly felt a surge of indignation, almost on the verge of tears.

Seeing her expression, Chen Hao suddenly said with a laugh, "That's more like it. A face should show a range of emotions. Otherwise, always looking so stern is going to cause problems down the line. Actually, you're quite beautiful. A beautiful woman shouldn't always be so icy; it's not a good look."

"But, don't think you can get out of paying me with that. I still want the money—the fifty bucks. That's enough to buy me ten packs of smokes."

When Li Bingshuang heard him still harping on about that fifty yuan, she slapped the steering wheel and said between clenched teeth, "Chen Hao, I'm officially telling you now, I'm not in the mood, nor do I have the time to listen to your lowbrow disgusting talk. I want to discuss serious matters with you now."

"Discuss serious matters?" Chen Hao was taken aback, "What serious matters? Are we close? What's there to discuss? I've known you for less than twenty-four hours since last night. I suggest you just give me the fifty yuan, and then I can rush back to work. If I take too long of a leave, they really will dock my pay."

Chen Hao kept focusing on the money, driving Li Bingshuang nearly to the brink of madness, "Can't you be serious for once?"

Seeing her on the verge of a breakdown and ready to explode, Chen Hao figured that teasing her any further might not end well. So, he chuckled, unbuckled his seatbelt, stretched out his legs in front, and, tilting his head, asked, "What serious matter? Go on."
