Chen Lu hadn't lingered long in the kitchen; he quickly packed the dumplings into a clear storage box and walked out with it.
Approaching, he handed it directly to Shen Qing, who was still noticeably shaken.
"Considering you're still young, I'll let it go this time," Chen Lu said, pushing the dumplings into Shen Qing's hands with a stern face, his anger from being wrongfully accused not yet subsided, "There won't be a next time."
Shen Qing stared in astonishment, holding the dumplings and looking at Chen Lu's stern face. Feeling incredibly guilty, she didn't say a word. Tentatively, she took a few steps to the side, and when she realized no one was stopping her, she turned around and hurried toward the entrance.
Shen Qing bolted through the door and out, not even bothering to close it properly before shakily opening the door across from her. Following the loud bang from the door shutting on the opposite side, the world fell utterly silent.
Mo Shangjun shrugged helplessly.
