Fisherman Zhu Dachui, though certainly no fool, managed to piece things together after Mo Yaotiao's lengthy explanation, along with earlier events, and came to a pretty clear understanding. Although he still found the matter quite bewildering, one look at his sorry state convinced him there was nothing left to doubt.
"It seems it's all because I've accumulated too much good karma," he mused. "Otherwise, Brother Fan Er wouldn't have come to me. But really, you two went too far. I'm just a mortal; how could I have possibly seen anything like your spectacle? Why serve up such a bizarre dish? It was that thing that scared me to death! Besides, I had no idea you weren't supposed to say 'death' around here."
By the end of his speech, Fisherman Zhu Dachui felt like crying in front of the ghost couple again, the distress was still just too much to bear.
