Meng Xinian and Chiang Xiao came back with quite a few flowers, some of which were already grown and some were seeds.
Chiang Xiao intended to plant the seeds, then dig some black soil from her space as fertilizer. Later, she would dilute it with Spiritual Spring Water to water the plants, ensuring the courtyard would be exceptionally brilliant with blooming flowers.
On the way back, Meng Xinian had told her that whenever he was free, he would come back to water the flowers and let her stay in the provincial capital during the weekends.
However, as soon as they walked through the door, Chiang Songhai quickly approached and pulled Meng Xinian aside, speaking in a low voice, "Your father called, it sounded like he had an argument with your grandfather. Old Meng was cursing fiercely, and after hanging up the phone he complained of chest pain!"
Meng Xinian's face darkened.
Chiang Xiao frowned slightly, "I'll go make some tea for grandpa; you go check on him first."
