After returning to Peace Town, Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao knew they both had to leave, but they decided to stay in Peace Town a little longer.
They didn't want to go to the provincial city or to Huaming County; without Chiang Xiao, being just the two of them felt too lonely. They preferred to stay near Osmanthus Alley for now, occasionally visiting Ge Dejun's new home in Chestnut Mountain, and also overseeing the construction at the No. 17 old mansion bought by Chiang Xiao.
Building houses in Peace Town brought more joy to Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao compared to buying houses in the city or the county.
After all, this was their homeland, and they felt a strong sense of belonging to Peace Town. Additionally, buying someone else's old house was never quite the same as building a new one.
Even though the old houses were being demolished and reconstructed.
Seeing that they genuinely wanted to stay, Chiang Xiao let them be and didn't force them to follow her.
