Then he forcefully took Gu Mingyue away from the cake section.
Gu Minglu watched Gu Mingyue's sobbing silhouette from behind.
He turned his head and carefully placed the piece of cake that his second aunt had just divided from Gu Mingyue's plate into his own, prepared to leave with it when he decided to cut another small piece to add to his pile, heaping it into a little mountain on his plate until there was no room for even a smidge more. Only then did Gu Minglu, clutching his plate, carefully walk away, looking around as he went.
He climbed the stairs, heading to the second floor.
His footsteps halted at the door of Gu Mingyue's room, where he could hear the sound of muffled crying from inside.
"Mingyue, please open the door," Gu Minglu pleaded from outside to Gu Mingyue.
Gu Mingyue's crying paused for a moment, as if she had heard Gu Minglu's voice, but then she resumed sobbing and wailing, "I won't open the door, don't come in, I don't like you!"
