Dawn's light pierced the morning sky, waking the slumbering earth.
A new day had arrived.
Su Xiaoli was awakened by the knocking on the door.
The one knocking was none other than Aunt Feng, who she had sent away on leave the previous night.
From outside, Aunt Feng knocked diligently:
"Madam, are you all right?"
"I still can't rest assured about you. I didn't sleep well at home last night, so I came back after breakfast."
"It's already nine in the morning, haven't you woken up yet?"
"Don't you usually follow your biological clock and wake up at six in the morning? Why are you still sleeping at this hour today?"
"Madam, are you feeling unwell, do you want me to call a doctor for you?"
Aunt Feng's concerned voice, mingled with the rhythmic knocking, made Su Xiaoli, who was still groggy in bed, frown and was just about to open her eyes to speak when she heard the sound of a man getting out of bed.
The man got out of bed and his footsteps headed towards the door.
