The old man said, then looked again at Wen Zhi and He Hanjin in the car with a pleading gaze.
"Could you give me something to eat? Or some money would be fine as well, just so I can find a place to stay for now."
The old man looked utterly pitiable, as if he had really been heartlessly abandoned by his children.
Wen Zhi couldn't bear to see this, and just as she was about to get out of the car, she was stopped by He Hanjin.
"Don't go out just yet."
"What's the matter?" Wen Zhi turned around, her eyes full of confusion.
"I'll go down. You stay in the car, and remember to lock the doors."
He Hanjin's tone was a bit heavy, still finding it suspicious for someone to be here in these circumstances.
If the old man's children were really that cruel, they should have abandoned him somewhere desolate, not somewhere he could find a road.
"Aren't you being a bit too cautious?" Wen Zhi chuckled softly.
"Better to be cautious than not, just listen."
