After returning, Yan Xi saw Wen Zhi being brought back, her face flushed with excitement. She immediately went forward to embrace her, her voice tinged with a hint of weeping.
"I'm so glad you're alright! I was worried to death!"
Wen Zhi didn't blame her at all. Instead, she returned the embrace with a smile and gently patted her back twice.
"Don't cry, look, I'm fine, aren't I? It wasn't like I wandered off on purpose. We can't control the weather."
Although she said that, during the days Wen Zhi was missing, even though Yan Xi did go out to search, she hadn't spent very much time on it.
It wasn't because she didn't want to search, but because the roads were too difficult to navigate. The hurricane had blown the snow into thick drifts, and it was easy to lose direction if one didn't travel together.
Yan Xi felt guilty, and despite Wen Zhi's words of comfort, she still looked self-reproachful.
