As soon as Zhou Mo spoke, Lu Jincheng on the other end of the phone was taken aback.
He hung up and quickened his pace toward the lakeside, all the while keeping an eye on his surroundings.
He wasn't sure whether he was hoping to see Ji Yao there again.
When he finally reached the agreed spot by the lake, he saw Zhou Mo, but there was no one else beside him.
Zhou Mo also noticed Lu Jincheng's searching gaze and said with a laugh,
"I knew it, you and your wife must have had a quarrel, right? I just saw Mrs. Lu painting here, and I have no idea what you did to make her so upset that she had to come out and paint alone."
Lu Jincheng looked thoughtfully at the place where Ji Yao had been but didn't explain that he and Ji Yao were already divorced.
"Let's not talk about her. You've just returned, and I have found a piece of land in the suburbs that I plan to incorporate into my company. How about I take you to see it first?"
Lu Jincheng didn't hide his plans from Zhou Mo.
