"Mommy, what's wrong?" Muci asked cautiously as he approached Shen Chu'an.
He reached out his little hand to tug at the corner of Shen Chu'an's clothes, but she dodged it.
"Can you explain to me what exactly is going on?" Shen Chu'an gritted her teeth as she spoke.
"It's nothing serious." Muci suddenly felt a surge of unease and lowered his head, not daring to look at Shen Chu'an.
Not far away, Fu Huaichen silently watched the scene unfold, ultimately letting out a helpless sigh as he walked over slowly.
"Why did you skip class? Do you know how worried Mommy was about you?"
"I didn't do it on purpose, I just..." Muci murmured, about to explain, when suddenly Shen Chu'an hugged him tightly.
"Do you know how scared Mommy was?" Shen Chu'an's hands shook as she held him.
Over the years, she and Muci had depended solely on each other. If something had really happened to him, she would have fallen apart.
