When did it start?
For Pei Zhiyao, there seemed to be no exact time.
It was cumulative, a difference in treatment that Pei Zhiyao could see for himself.
From a young age, Pei Zhiyao felt that his status within the Pei Family was somehow different from that of Pei Qingqing.
His father protected him at every turn, yet was exceptionally strict when it came to academics and work.
He was clearly being groomed to take over the Pei Group, yet his father deliberately kept Pei Zhiyao from core information.
And all of this was the opposite of how it was with Pei Qingqing.
He furrowed his brows, pondered for a long time, and ultimately decided to tell the truth.
"I've been able to see it for years," he said.
His father looked at him with a curious gaze.
As if he didn't believe what Pei Zhiyao was saying.
He smiled, but his eyes did not reflect the mirth.
"Go on," he said.
Pei Zhiyao was worried inside.
He had a persistent feeling of unease.
But he had already spoken his mind.
