Chapter 13 - 013 The burning palm, through the fabric emitting waves of heat_1

About the incident that happened last Friday being caught on camera and uploaded to the internet, Su Ruoan came across it unintentionally, but Tang Su was completely unaware.

In the edited one-and-a-half-minute video, it wasn't just the unremarkable her and Sun Qing, Ye Sichen was also a passerby no one paid attention to, but Shen Tian had a certain degree of fame.

Those who recognized Shen Tian, upon seeing her in the video, would automatically share it.

And so it spread, from one to ten, ten to a hundred, the clip proliferated at an ever-increasing rate.

After returning to Tingzhu Building from her parents' house, the taxi ride took twenty minutes. The driver's skills were great, both fast and safe.

After getting out of the taxi, Tang Su paid the fare in the app and carried her things into the residential complex.

Once in the elevator alone, Tang Su inevitably thought of the scene when she and Lu Han were in the lift together that evening. At the time, she seemed utterly unconcerned, but afterwards, she found that each detail was vividly etched in her memory.

Even now, she could feel Lu Han's burning palm on her waist, the heat waves radiating through the fabric of her clothes.

The scorching warmth made Tang Su's cheeks blush uncontrollably.

With a ding, the elevator reached her floor.

At that moment, Tang Su's phone vibrated in her pocket.

She was looking at her phone while walking out of the elevator.

Thud—

She bumped into someone.

Tang Su's forehead pressed against Lu Han's extremely firm chest.

Without holding back, Lu Han chided, "This habit of looking at your phone with your head down, is it a common problem among you young people?"

"..."

He said it as if he was much older.

"Doctor Lu, are you throwing out the trash?" Tang Su greeted Lu Han with a bright smile.

"Yeah." Lu Han nodded. He indeed had a black trash bag in his hand, containing some fruit peels.

"Then let me throw it for you. By the way, do you like durian?"

Lu Han shook his head, but Tang Su wasn't sure what he was declining – her offer to take out the trash or the durian?

She assumed it was the latter. After all, something as strong-flavored as durian didn't quite mesh with Doctor Lu's untouchable demeanor.

"Then you'll definitely like this box of crispy candies. Here, take this, and give me the trash," Tang Su said as she handed over a beautifully packaged box of crispy candies to Lu Han.

"Thank you."

After Lu Han took the crispy candies, Tang Su sneakily took the black trash bag from his other hand and rushed to the emergency stairs to dispose of it. Then she quickly reappeared in front of Lu Han.

"Oh, right, my dad made me two boxes of homemade dumplings. There's too much for me, I can't finish it all. Doctor Lu, why don't I give you a box? It could be breakfast."

"No need, keep it for yourself and enjoy," Lu Han politely declined. The special gesture from her father to his daughter wasn't something he, an outsider, felt comfortable sharing.

"Yes, Doctor Lu's medicine works great. Actually, last night the buzzing stopped, and today everything seems clearer," Tang Su responded.

"Good, keep taking the medication, don't forget. And make sure to come in for a check-up. If you don't have time, I can come back and do the examination for you."

Lu Han already knew she had opened a bookstore on Culture Street. He truly hadn't expected such a seemingly lively girl to run a bookstore.

"Yes." Tang Su nodded.

"You should head back now, get some rest. Rest is key to recovery."

"All right, good night, Doctor Lu."

"Good night."

"Doctor Lu, are you sure you don't want to try the handmade dumplings? My father's cooking is really good," said Tang Su, offering her treasure.

"Well then, I'll accept this box of dumplings. On the day of your check-up, don't go through the registration, just come to the second floor and find me," Lu Han replied, not wishing to always be in her debt.

"Okay, will do," Tang Su agreed.

Sharing one of the two boxes of dumplings from her bag with Lu Han, Tang Su waved goodbye and went inside her apartment.

Once Lu Han heard the click of the lock, he took the gifts she gave him inside his place.

He placed the box of crispy candies on the coffee table, stared at it for a bit, then opened it, peeled one, and popped it into his mouth. Instantly his mouth was filled with the overwhelming sweetness.

The sweetness made the corners of Lu Han's mouth lift slightly.

At that moment, his phone rang. Glancing at the screen, he answered, "Hello, Mom, what's up?"

"Lu Han, your father mentioned that the three-year agreement between you two comes up next month. Mom wants to know, when do you plan on coming back?"

"Isn't it only due next month? When it's due, I'll talk to him."

"Ah, make sure you and your dad have a good talk, okay? Don't argue, he's getting on in years."

"Got it, hanging up now, I'm going to sleep."

"Okay."

With a glance at the crispy candies on the coffee table, Lu Han turned off the lights and headed to his bedroom.
