After Ye Sichen left, Ade emerged from the back room, being the biggest gossip and goofball of the entire coffee shop.
"Boss, did you have a fight with your 'boss husband'?"
"'Boss husband'? What kind of term is that?" Tang Su furrowed her brows, it couldn't be a variation of 'boss lady.'
"A wife of a male boss is called a 'boss lady,' and if the boss is female, her husband is simply referred to as 'boss husband,'" Ade explained.
"Figures," Tang Su sighed helplessly, "I broke up with him, so if he ever comes to buy coffee, just treat him like any regular customer, but he probably won't come anymore. If he does, just do as I said."
"Okay, boss," the staff responded in unison.
"Hey boss, you did right by breaking up. I just saw someone outside way handsomer than Mr. Ye. Now that you're single, if you're looking for a new 'boss husband,' it should be someone like that," Ade said while nodding towards the outside.
"What kind of someone?" Tang Su followed his gaze only to see that there was nobody outside at all, okay?
Just then, the sound of the wind chimes at the door signaled a new customer's arrival.
"See, there he is." Ade went forward with a beaming smile to welcome the handsome guy.
And then Tang Su saw Lu Han.
Tang Su was holding a cup of coffee, the one that Ye Sichen had abandoned.
She didn't like to waste her own shop's coffee, and besides, Ye Sichen had said it was for her.
After what he had done to her, she felt perfectly justified in drinking his coffee.
She just hadn't expected Doctor Lu to visit her humble café in the middle of the day.
"Tang Su?" Lu Han, surprised yet not quite, called out to her.
"Doctor Lu, good afternoon," Tang Su hopped off the high stool, casually straightening the hem of her clothes, then pulled out a super, ultra-radiant smile.
"Your bookstore's closed, so you've come for a coffee, huh?" Lu Han raised his eyebrows.
"The bookstore has a two-hour lunch break, so I came over for a coffee," Tang Su said, while making eye signals to Ade, who was behind Lu Han and about to blurt out that she was the owner of the coffee shop.
"Oh, I see, I was thinking of getting a library card at your place," Lu Han nodded, showing he understood. There were off hours at his workplace too, and Tang Su's bookstore wasn't open 24/7.
"Sure, let's go. Would you like some coffee, Doctor Lu? This place makes really good coffee, I saw your colleague buying it just yesterday," Tang Su said.
"Yeah, it tastes great, I'll get a cup when I'm done."
"Doctor Lu, let me treat you," seeing the puzzled look on Lu Han's face, Tang Su instinctively touched the back of her head, explaining, "Uh, I have a pre-paid card. Members with recharged balances get 12% off, so it's cheaper."
"I could recharge too. I ate your dumplings and even took your crispy heart candy. Just yesterday, I still owed you for a book, and if I add a cup of coffee today, I'll never clear my debt."
The four staff members all clicked their tongues, "…"
Their Miss Tang was pretty slick.
To have so many run-ins with such an elite-level handsome guy behind their backs?
And to even wrap dumplings for this handsome man?
Rare indeed.
Ade's forthright gaze grew even clearer: no wonder you broke up with Mr. Ye, got a change of heart, huh?
But sure, meeting such a top-notch handsome guy, any woman could easily falter.
It wouldn't be normal not to.
Tang Su felt very embarrassed indeed. She genuinely wanted to treat Lu Han to a coffee. The recharge card and the 12% discount wasn't to encourage him to spend money.
And definitely not to make him patronize her business.
But she had already told them not to reveal to Doctor Lu that she was the owner, and it would be super awkward to say so now.
Well, leave it be, just let it go for now.
