Chapter 19 - Send you up.

Lu Xiu glanced at her, her expression faint, her voice transmitting through the air into her ears: "Not happy?"

Su Qing dumbly replied, "No."

Raindrops outside fell on the car window, sliding quickly, one by one sinking into the rain.

In the vast city, there was no place belonging to her. Since her mother left, this feeling had grown stronger. The monotonous life had become her norm, but after Lu Xiu came back, her life seemed different somehow.

It was hard to say what exactly changed, but she felt a sense of being filled up.

The car stopped downstairs.

The rain outside also stopped, the air carrying a hint of post-rain freshness.

She carefully stepped on the soaked ground with her small white shoes, her movements gentle, her gaze serious. Turning around to bid farewell to Lu Xiu, she saw him coming from the other side, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

"I'm leaving," she paused for two seconds. Lu Xiu's eyes flashed slightly, and he walked towards Su Qing. She was slightly stunned, unsure of what he was up to, unable to guess his intentions.

"What's up?" Su Qing took two small steps backward, pressing against the wall corner, as he advanced step by step.

Although there were no emotions on her face, the sound of her heartbeat made her feel disoriented.

Lu Xiu lowered his head to look at the fair-skinned girl in front of him, his gaze slowly moving to her lips, obscure and unclear, with a momentary impulse to possess her.

But she was already mine. After a moment, Lu Xiu turned his head, suppressing the emotions deep in his heart, his voice strangely hoarse, "I'll walk you up."

Su Qing breathed a sigh of relief, furrowing her brows slightly, "I live on the fifth floor."

She wanted to dissuade him; after all, climbing to the fifth floor was quite tiring. If he didn't come to see her, he might not have climbed such a high floor until now.

"I know."

"..."

Well, she didn't refuse. Lu Xiu walked beside her, intentionally or unintentionally brushing against her shoulder and then withdrawing. Su Qing pretended not to notice.

As they reached upstairs, there was some movement at her neighbor's door. She looked a bit flustered, subconsciously grabbing Lu Xiu's hand and leading him into her house.

Lu Xiu looked at her, his complexion not too good. He had just realized the situation. His gaze was piercing as he watched her, making Su Qing feel a bit flustered.

She was afraid.

Su Qing tidied her hair. Although things weren't going well for her now, she never wanted to show her most vulnerable side in front of Lu Xiu.

Anyone else could see, but not him.

She tugged at the corners of her stiff mouth, trying to make herself look unaffected, "You should go back first."

Lu Xiu quickly resumed his usual demeanor, chuckled lightly, and said softly, "Just like that, you're chasing me away? Su Qing, you're quite something."

Su Qing remained silent.

To be honest, she knew it wasn't good to act like this. After all, he had helped her a lot, and she often wondered if what she was doing was right or not.

"Alright, just remember to take your medicine." He said again, "Give me your hand."

Su Qing was momentarily stunned, then stretched out her small, fair hand. She saw Lu Xiu take out some orange-flavored candy from the pocket of his trendy shirt.

Still warm, she heard him say the last words, "I'll pick you up the day after tomorrow." Lu Xiu closed the door, his deep eyes staring at the door next to hers for a few seconds.

Two days later.

Su Qing wore a milk-white horn-button coat and went downstairs, unsure of what Su Haiguo's reaction would be when he saw her.

As soon as she got downstairs, she saw that conspicuous SUV. She rubbed her hands and jogged over.

Lu Xiu watched the approaching figure of white, the smile in his eyes becoming more and more obvious. He lifted his eyelids and ignored her, directly walking past her to hold Su Qing's hand.

Su Qing, having seen much of this before, when she was still with him, the girls in the class were even more excessive than this. But now that they had broken up, she had no right to interfere. She dodged his outstretched hand and walked inside. Lu Xiu didn't mind, his long legs striding beside her.

After tidying up her emotions, Chen Yun followed them, having seen everything just now.

"A-Xiu is here." Chen Yun's mother, Chen Chunyun, hurriedly got up from the sofa and patted Su Haiguo beside her.

Su Haiguo just raised his head and saw Lu Xiu, but the girl next to him was even more eye-catching. Sweat broke out on his forehead instantly.

Lu Xiu nodded at her, and Chen Chunyun glanced at the girl beside him, with a hint of surprise. Wasn't this the girl on Lu Xiu's phone wallpaper?

She grinned, "Hello, what's your name?" Su Qing pursed her lips lightly and replied faintly, "Su Qing."

Su Qing found Su Haiguo's nervous appearance somewhat amusing.

"Come, have a seat." Chen Chunyun waved her hand, and Su Qing was pushed by Chen Yun to walk over. "She's really fair-skinned, what did you eat to be this fair?" Chen Chunyun looked at Su Qing and said, "My daughter has been taking those nutritional supplements since she was little, and she's not as fair as you."

Su Qing had gotten used to hearing this. Almost everyone she knew would say she was fair-skinned. She never used sunscreen throughout the year and never got tanned.

She smiled symbolically and then said, "Maybe I inherited it from my dad." Su Haiguo's mind went blank for a moment, his mouth trembling.

"Then your dad must be really fair-skinned. My husband is also fair, take a look at him." After saying that, she looked at Su Haiguo and saw his face turning red. "What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing, nothing, just feeling a bit stuffy."

"Is that so?" Chen Chunyun looked around, didn't seem stuffy at all. She then looked at Lu Xiu, knowing that her daughter liked him. She had planned to matchmake today, but unexpectedly Su Qing showed up.
