Chereads / Act coquettish with me / Chapter 12 - Missing you is real.

Chapter 12 - Missing you is real.

Even now, Lu Xiu still appeared worldly and unruly. No one had been able to truly restrain him in all the years they had known him. Things seemed to be getting interesting.

Jiang Yuanzhou almost choked on his water, coughing several times before patting his chest and laughing. "Blocked you? Hahaha, so even you have days like this."

With a grim expression, Lu Xiu remained silent and offered him a cigarette, lighting it with a click of his lighter.

His slender fingers held the cigarette, the orange glow of the tip standing out in the dim environment. His half-closed eyelids blurred in the smoke, exuding an air of ease and sophistication.

Several women couldn't help but cast flirtatious glances at him. He responded with a sardonic smile, meeting their gaze with indifference. Despite mingling with wealthy heirs for years, they couldn't resist Lu Xiu's allure. They dared not approach him, sitting in the middle of the couch with a few men embracing them, but their eyes kept darting towards him.

As the night wore on and Lu Xiu drank more, his head started spinning. He muttered about wanting to go pick up Su Qing, and his friends had no choice but to arrange for a driver to take him there.

---

The chilly wind was biting, sending shivers down her spine. Just as Su Qing stepped out of the company, a dark figure grabbed her and pinned her to a corner. She almost screamed until she saw the familiar handsome face, heaving a sigh of relief.

Pushing away the hand covering her mouth, a breeze carried the scent of alcohol. Frowning, she pushed the person in front of her, but to no avail.

"What are you doing? You're drunk, go home."

Turning her head away, she didn't want to look at him. Suddenly, she felt something cool and soft against her neck. Lu Xiu kissed her neck gently, his touch both tender and cautious, sending shivers down her spine.

Their shadows stretched long in the moonlit night.

"Lu Xiu! You're drunk." Su Qing pushed him away with all her strength, and finally, he relented.

After a couple of seconds, he hugged her again, burying his head in her shoulder. His warm breath made her blush. How much had he drunk?

"I miss you." After a moment, his voice, slightly hoarse, whispered, "It's true."

The gentle breeze tousled her hair, and her cheeks flushed. Even though it was winter, her face felt like it was still summer.

Feeling the coldness of the wall, she regained some clarity. Gently patting his back, she pushed him away. Lu Xiu's eyes were tinged with tears, even in the dim light, and he looked at Su Qing with a helpless expression, so different from his demeanor at the bar.

Standing before her like a rejected child, broken and lost.

He cried...

---

A shooting star streaked across the sky, the moon shining brightly.

"Aren't you leaving?" Yang Zhiyan, carrying her bag, approached with graceful steps. Seeing the man next to Su Qing, she was taken aback. His face was too dark to make out, but she could sense his extraordinary appearance.

Su Qing snapped out of her trance, pulling Lu Xiu's coat to her side, not wanting her to see him. Lu Xiu couldn't stand still, trying to hug her again, but she pushed him away.

"We're leaving now."

Unexpectedly, Yang Zhiyan walked over, walking confidently in her high heels, her bright red lips curving up. Su Qing bit her lip, feeling a bit annoyed seeing Yang Zhiyan's approach.

Yang Zhiyan drew closer, and upon seeing Lu Xiu's face, she gasped, her voice trembling with surprise. "Lu Xiu? Young Master Lu?"

Su Qing nodded slightly, not wanting to invite unnecessary trouble. After all, she and Lu Xiu had no relationship now, and she just wanted to leave quickly.

"Are you... really together?" Yang Zhiyan's eyes widened as she looked at the two of them. "Not yet..." Before she could finish, Lu Xiu leaned in to hug her again. Su Qing sighed, not wanting to explain anymore.

She really wanted to just leave him here.

"We're leaving now." She tugged at Lu Xiu's coat, ready to go.

"He's drunk. Where are you taking him? You said you're not together, why are you leaving together?" Yang Zhiyan looked at Su Qing's actions, finding them annoying. If she could win over Lu Xiu, she wouldn't have to worry for generations. Besides, she wasn't any less attractive than her.

"Who are you?" Suddenly, Lu Xiu stopped in his tracks, turning his head to glare at Yang Zhiyan, sending shivers down her spine.

"She... she wants to take you away and do bad things to you. I... I'm helping you stop her," she stammered, her voice trembling with fear, feeling embarrassed.

"Do you want her? Then have her," Su Qing said, dropping her hand with no hint of regret in her eyes. Yang Zhiyan's eyes lit up momentarily, only to be doused with cold water soon after.

Lu Xiu reached around her slender waist, her scent captivating him, his tone carrying a hint of pleading. "I don't want her, I only want you."

The words, neither big nor small, made Yang Zhiyan increasingly uneasy as she looked at the two of them. Her smile froze on her lips, and she could only attribute it to his drunken state.

Su Qing sighed, feeling helpless. "Do you remember where your home is? Let me call a car to take you back." He remained silent, his face cold. She reached out and patted his cheek before saying, "Give me your phone."

Lu Xiu obediently took out his phone, but when Su Qing tried to turn it on, there was no response. It was dead.

Today was really not her lucky day.

Oh well, there was no other way. She would have to book a hotel for him.

Under Yang Zhiyan's watchful gaze, they got into the car. Su Qing imagined her expression must have been quite ugly. After booking the hotel, Su Qing looked at her dwindling balance on her phone, feeling a pang of regret. Well, she would consider it as interest on the money she lent him.

She wondered if the young master could tolerate staying in this hotel.

Just as she was about to get up from the bed, Lu Xiu pulled her over, and then his face loomed large in front of her, kissing her.

Su Qing's words were swallowed in her throat, the surroundings too quiet, she felt like she could hear her own heartbeat. One beat, two beats, three beats, it was so fast that it almost couldn't stop. Her mind went blank, the familiar taste making her feel like she had returned to the past for a moment.

Just the touch of lips to lips, the bright lights turned into white mist, blurring into one.

A slightly cool hand touched her skin, and she finally snapped out of it, pushing him away with all her strength and running out.

When she arrived home, she felt like there was still his taste on her lips. It had been a long time since she had felt this way.

She lay on the bed feeling intoxicated, unable to get rid of Lu Xiu from her mind.
