Her life began as nothing more than a Dead Worm inside of a Rotten Fruit.
An Embodiment of Disgust.
An existence sitting on the precipice between a living being and a force of nature.
All she could do was wait, nothing more than a mass of dead flesh, waiting for a sculptor to arrive and model her into a form of living.
Or for the inevitable march of time to drag her to eternity, an empty mass with no purpose.
And then It arrived.
A being of perfection incarnate, a Goddess in mortal flesh, Its very existence was the catalyst that that pushed her forward, a spark of consciousness in the empty sea of nothingness that was her mind.
"What a hideous creature you are," It told her, cementing in her the truth of her existence.
She was an Embodiment of Disgust.
And like a wild animal, Newly Born, she imprinted on It. It became more than a mother figure to her, It became an Idol.
A being of worship.
It was Perfect, and she was not.
For one hundred years, she shadowed It, living as It's Mirror, an opposite force that contradicted the perfection that It represented.
And yet, she wanted more.
She was a Dead Worm inside of a Rotten Fruit, perhaps it was simply in her nature to want more, to Hunger for more.
She did not simply want to be like It, she wanted to be It.
Such blasphemous thoughts, a creature as hideous and rotten as her could never be It.
It was perfect, and she was not. Only a perfect being could be It.
What was Perfection? It was Perfection.
What was It? A Being loved by all.
To become Perfect, she must become a being loved by all.
And only once she becomes a being full of love, an existence so pure and radiant, will her body shed its disgusting flesh, the dead skin that was the building foundation of her temple, and the Chrysalis will open, and from the cocoon, the Dead Worm will sprout wings of Perfection Incarnate, and become the very being It was.
An Embodiment of Disgust, Becoming an Embodiment of Perfection.
How Blasphemous a thought, how Wretched a mind, how Hideous a being.
She truly was an embodiment of Disgust.
After It was shattered by the Black Butterfly, She searched the earth for the one remnant of It that remained, a child, a small filly, whisked away by the clutches of It's magic.
She searched for the child, and she devoured all the love she could find as she went along, She cared not for who she would harm and what damages she would bring to the ones she devoured, their love was Its love, and Its love was her love.
Kingdoms toppled, Legions fell, and Empires Crumbled, as she devoured their love, all in search of that child, all in search of perfection itself.
And then She arrived.
A Warrior Princess fueled by rage and anguish, a Ruler who banished her Sister to the moon above, and one who cared not for the damage she would bring her.
She cared not for Perfection, She cared not for Disgust, She cared not for It.
She brought down the might of the Sun itself upon her and her forces, the children she molded from her own discarded flesh, her Love was drained in an effort to keep herself alive under the burning heat of the Solar Warrior.
Her shining carapace, once a dark mirror to It, was scarred and ruined, marks of burning and holes of hunger, what was once a powerful Queen whose very presence could bring down nations in search of Perfection, was now little more than a hollowed shell, empty of love, thin and sickly, scarred and burnt.
She trapped her and her swarm beneath a volcano, far away from any civilization, where she would spend the rest of her years wallowing in her pain, licking at her wounds, like a rabid beast who could do nothing but run on instinct.
Like a Dead Worm inside of a Rotten Fruit.
Yet, She could not keep her from becoming It.
Digging and scraping and doing all she can, An Exit was created, Her life was freed from the confines of her volcanic prison, but she could not stop there.
She had to be destroyed, Daring to harm a vassal for It's will? Death was not a question anymore, but an answer!
And now here she was, One Thousand years later, Ready to devour all the Love that She has, before finally ending her life. Devouring all she had until not even her soul could recover.
And once she was done with her, she would turn to the Child, the last vestige of Perfection itself, and finally become full.
Her Unending Hunger would soon come to an end, as an Embodiment of Its Love will soon bring her to her Truth.
And then the Chrysalis will open up, and the Dead Worm will spread Its wings.
"This day is going to be Perfect~
The kind of day of which I dreamed since I was small~
Every Pony will gather round, Say I look lovely in my gown~
What they don't know is that I have fooled them all!"
--------------------------------------
"Starlight Glimmer, If Chrysalis has indeed teleported Twilight Sparkle, then she should still be close by," Princess Luna, Ruler of the Night, told the unicorn that stood before her inside her tower.
"Therefore she must still be somewhere in Canterlot, the only places in which she could have taken her where she would not have been found, are the Sewers, Starswirl's research room, and the Crystal Mines.
The Sewers are out, seeing as they are easy to escape from and are therefore not an optimal location to hide someone, We can also rule out Starswirl's research room, seeing as it is in the Castle, merely hidden. We would have known if any pony was there, which leaves only the Crystal Mines," She said as she looked at the Unicorn Bodyguard.
"You are to go there and find Twilight Sparkle, We'll need the Elements of Harmony if we wish to successfully take down Chrysalis, are we understood?"
Starlight Glimmer nodded her head, a look of focused resolve on her face as she gave a bow to the Princess, "Crystal~"
If Twilight was there, chances are that so was her Boss.
She stood up and exited the tower, leaving the Princess of the Moon to watch over the castle from above.
Before she leaves for a Tunnel, however, she has to make a quick detour.
Starlight had a bag to pick up.
--------------------------------------
Beneath Canterlot Mountain, Three ponies were running down tunnels of cold stone and crystal, trying to escape the abandoned caverns that trapped them within.
"Turn left here!" The Stallion of the group yelled as he turned at a crossway in the tunnels, his Cutie Mark pushing him towards the direction he was looking for.
"We need to hurry! The wedding must already be starting!" Twilight Sparkle yelled as she followed the white unicorn.
"No! It's a Dead End!" The Alicorn of the group cried as she too turned the corner, her body nearly crashing into the wall in front of her.
"No, it's not!" The Stallion yelled at her, taking deep breaths as she turned to the other unicorn of the group, "Librarian, blast this wall open!"
"Fine!" Twilight Sparkle yelled, her horn glowing with purple magic before a beam of arcane power left her head, blasting the wall of crystal and rock open as if it were paper mache.
The Stallion tried not to look jealous as he watched the ease with which the mare, almost a decade younger than him, used her magic.
If he tried to do the same thing, he would have tired out long ago, and that was if he was at full capacity.
As he was now, Just a few blasts like that would leave him empty, and he needed to keep all the magic he could hold, there was an inevitable fight coming up.
He scowled at the thought of the fight, he would be almost no help, low on calories and magic, and he would collapse after fighting just one simple Changeling, let alone their Queen.
"It's another dead end! We're never going to make it!" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza cried as she exited through the new hole in the wall, only to find herself standing at the edge of a cliff leading towards nothing but a drop into sharp crystal stalagmites.
"It can't be a dead end! There must be a way out of here!" Prince Blueblood yelled at his cousin, his body aching from running, even if it was for a short duration.
He needed to see a medical professional.
"There's no such thing as a dead end in caves like these," Twilight Sparkle said in an attempt to get the two royals to calm down, "We just need to find... There!" She yelled as she pointed up above her, where a small beam of light was entering the cave.
There must be an entrance over there!
Without waiting for a response, Twilight Sparkle grabbed hold of both royals with her magic before the trio disappeared in a shower of sparks and light, teleporting onto the opening she saw from far below.
And there it was, the exit, a hole in the wall leading to an entrance halfway up the Canterlot Cliffs.
And between them and the exit, there were three familiar mares.
"The Bridesmaids!" Twilight exclaimed at the sight, watching them slowly walk towards the group with eyes of blank green as if their minds weren't there.
And before the brainwashed mares could do anything, three quick beams of magic struck them in the back of the head, knocking them out.
"Heh~" Prince Blueblood let out a soft chuckle as he recognized the color of the magic, "Took ya long enough, I should cut your pay for taking so long," He turned to the entrance of the cave, smirking as he watched the air shimmer as an Illusion disappeared.
"You don't pay me," He smiled at the answer he expected to hear from the mare that stood there as she tossed him a familiar magical bag, "Now hold on, all of you, I'm taking you back to the Castle,"
All four ponies found themselves enveloped in an aquamarine aura as the newcomer teleported them all the way from halfway up the cliffs to the gardens of the Castle, even Twilight was impressed with the range of the spell.
"Let's go! We still have time to stop her!" Cadance yelled as she started to run towards the Wedding hall.
"Wait a moment, Cadenza," She stopped and turned back around to see her cousin hang onto his Bodyguard, his front leg hanging over her shoulders as she half-carried him.
"You two need to go on ahead," He told them, "There's going to be a fight, It's inevitable with a person like Chrysalis, and I'm going to be more of a liability than anything if that happens," He smiled sadly at the idea of not being able to personally smash the Changeling Queen's head in, "Go beat her up for me, yeah?" He nodded to his cousin before he turned to the Unicorn.
"Librarian," Twilight Sparkle straightened her back as the prince started speaking to her, "With the authority vested in me as Prince Blueblood Platinum of the Equestrian Crown, I hereby order you-" Twilight held her breath as she got ready to listen to a royal order.
"Win."
Win. Such a simple order.
"I have no plans on doing otherwise, Your Highness," Twilight lifted her front leg over her head as she saluted the Prince.
"That's not how you salute, You're embarrassing yourself, Librarian, just bow your head next time," He smirked at her before he turned around, His bodyguard still keeping him standing.
"And where will you be?" Cadance asked him as he walked away.
"I only have enough magic in me for one good shot, I need to make it count," He told her, "Don't worry about me, You two go and stop Chrysalis already."
Cadance stood there for a moment, watching her cousin walk away, before she turned to Twilight and the two nodded their heads.
------------------------------------
"Lastly, before we move to the final part, Does any pony object to the marriage, Speak now or forever hold your peace," Princess Celestia spoke as her eyes roamed the crowd in the hall, a soft smile on her face as her adopted Niece was finally about to get married.
"Very well then," Celestia continued after no pony spoke up, "Princess Cadance and Shining Armor, It is my great pleasure to pronounce you-"
"OBJECTION!!!"
The crowd gasped as the doors to the wedding hall burst open to reveal...
"PRINCESS CADANCE?!"
-----------------------------------------
There she was, standing on top of the podium at the end of the aisle, just a few seconds away from draining the Stallion's magic completely, shattering the shield that kept her forced outside.
And yet, there she stood, the Child of Perfection, an Embodiment of Its Love.
She learned enough from her past failures, there was no time to give a speech, or to reveal her plan to the whole crowd, letting them gawk at her like ducks in the pond.
There was no time for words, only Action.
With a flare of her horn, she turned to the Princess who scarred her a millennium ago.
And the world turned green.
