"You know, When you said all we had to do was nothing, I didn't expect you to be literal," Starlight Glimmer lazily held her head in her hoof, the elbow of her leg resting on the table beside the window of the large room near the middle of the ship, staring at her friend sip something he called a Roy Rogers.
"That cocktail doesn't even have alcohol in it, are you sure you haven't gone mad searching for information about Tirek?"
"Starlight," Prince Blueblood started to speak, turning away from staring at the waves through the window beside him in order to look at his Best Friend and bodyguard, "Sometimes you need some days where you don't do anything," He took a sip from his Mocktail before he returned to staring at the waves, "You need to learn the joy of stopping to smell the flowers,"
"I know what 'Stop and Smell the Flowers' Is, This isn't it. This isn't us stopping what we're doing to enjoy the small things in life, this is us stopping to do nothing!" Starlight groaned in boredom, her head sliding down the side of her leg in order to rest on the table.
"Maybe you should go outside for a bit, I'm planning to catch up on my tan outside in a few hours, maybe you can find something fun to do," Blueblood let out a relaxed sigh after taking another sip of his mocktail, "Think of this as a vacation for you as well, You know I can defend myself, you don't need to surround me all the time,"
"You... You're letting me leave your proximity?" Starlight asked, a tinge of hope entering her voice.
"Sure, Just be sure to return to our room at 22:00, go check out the pool or something, maybe you could- And she's gone..." Blueblood clicked his tongue as he saw his friend disappear in a pop of magical light.
"...She's getting really good with all these Teleportation spells," He took another sip from his Mocktail.
"...Would a Shirley Temple be... Nah, She seems more like an Arnold Palmer kind of person," Blueblood smirked at his oh-so-wonderful idea of bringing his friend a Mocktail of her own.
What a generous Boss.
----------------------------
The rest of the day passed by smoothly, at least, it did for Prince Blueblood.
Starlight Glimmer, on the other hand, tried her best to find relaxation on the large floating tub of steel, filled with nearly 1,000 Passengers, and an equal number of crew, in the middle of the ocean off the western coast of Equestria, surrounded by nothing but Water.
Her boss might find the big and wide open ocean as his happy place, that or the bottom of a bottle, but Starlight had experienced enough ocean during their trip to Caninia.
Did that sound like a good enough excuse? Starlight sure hoped so, because it was a way better excuse to tell her boss as to why she wasn't enjoying their vacation than to simply tell him the truth.
"I actually enjoy doing my job with you and going on a vacation to get away from it, when the best part of the job is that we can't get away from it, just makes me excited," She wanted to tell him that, "I'm just imagining what kind of disaster is going to ruin your attempt at relaxation this week, and I'm trying to think of all the different ways it could happen, Perhaps a sudden Iceberg will appear and smash the ship into pieces of scrap, or a tidal wave will flip the entire ship so we'll be stuck inside an upside-down ship? Perhaps another assassination attempt will take place? Anyone on this ship could be a Changeling in disguise." That is correct.
For what might have been the first time in over half a year, Starlight Glimmer was doing her job as a Bodyguard, and it just so happened to be during the time when Blueblood explicitly told her to enjoy her vacation.
"I'll enjoy it much more once I see you scream in frustration at how you want just one week where nothing happens," She smirked to herself as she walked down the hallways of the ship, trying to memorize the layout of the vessel in order to better think of ways someone, or something, might be able to ruin this vacation.
Perhaps Starlight was hanging out with Raven too much?
You do know those "Romance Stories" are just Smut with a plot, correct?
Or maybe the Prince is rubbing off on her too much? Starlight! Do not develop a sadistic streak!
Wait a minute... She was a cult leader for a while, who took away people's cutie marks... Starlight? Are you a sadist?
Oh, don't mind me, the Narrator! I am also enjoying my vacation this arc! Please do ignore any silly remarks I might make, I am simply enjoying myself.
Although this chapter's length is slightly short, perhaps an Omake could lengthen the-
...
What is it? No Omake this chapter?
...~
Fine, Although I would like to actually have the focus be on the characters for more than two scenes in the next chapter, this one was indeed rather short. I understand you want to get to the end of the season already so you can write some less fluffy chapters, but these arcs are important to developing the many relationships this story has created, My good author!
...!
Very well then, I will allow this chapter to end here, But I do believe that some readers will find the shift in tone from the last arc to this one, rather jarring. Are you sure this is a good way to go about it?

Oh, you are also taking a vacation with this arc? Very well then, My Good Author! Let us both enjoy this magical spring cruise to the fullest!
