Chapter 110 - Paladin

Ritsuka and the gang were in another bar, they were getting more information as then someone seat next to them, he was wearing a hood as he looked at the group

So what brought you to our town. The man in the hood said looking at them

Ritsuka looked at he was filling something of. Just wanted to visit why

As then he saw he was pulling out his sword, as Ritsuka pulled out Albion as he blocked the attack as shock wave happen as everyone, but Ritsuka and the hooded man were sent flying, the am. Removed his hood removed it, as he has sea blue eyes, yellow hair and a face that looks like he has been in many battle, his armour was a very well made

Let's me interduce my self I am Oton, one of Charlemage knight. Oton said looking at Ritsuka as looking at him holding his sword.

Ritsuka's eyes narrowed as he tightened his grip on Albion. "Oton, one of Charlemagne's knights, huh? Well, you certainly know how to make an entrance."

Oton smirked, lowering his sword slightly but keeping it ready. "You have a good blade, traveler. Albion, isn't it? It suits you."

Mash, recovering from the shockwave, stepped forward with her shield at the ready. "Why attack us without warning? We haven't done anything to provoke you."

Oton chuckled. "This town is under the protection of the Twelve Paladins. We don't take kindly to strangers, especially those who carry the scent of Proper Human History. Charlemagne's orders are to eliminate any threats."

Ritsuka sighed. "We're not here to cause trouble. We're just passing through."

Oton's eyes glinted with suspicion. "Passing through? In these times? I don't believe in coincidences. State your true purpose."

Ritsuka glanced at his companions. "We're here to gather information and understand the state of this lostbelt. We're not here to fight."

Oton raised an eyebrow. "Understand? Well, then, you'll understand why I can't let you proceed freely. Prove your strength, and perhaps I'll consider letting you go."

Without waiting for a response, Oton launched himself at Ritsuka again, their swords clashing with a powerful resonance. The force of their battle shook the bar, causing tables and chairs to splinter.

Mash moved to protect the others, her shield absorbing the shockwaves. "Senpai, be careful!"

Ritsuka nodded, focusing on Oton. "If it's a fight you want, then so be it."

As they continued to clash, the air crackled with energy, and onlookers from outside the bar gathered, whispering about the fierce battle between the mysterious travelers and one of Charlemagne's knights.

In the midst of the fight, Ritsuka found an opening and managed to disarm Oton, his sword flying across the room. Oton stumbled back, breathing heavily but with a hint of a smile.

"You are strong, traveler. Stronger than I expected. Perhaps... you might be the one we've been waiting for."

Ritsuka, still on guard, lowered his sword slightly. "What do you mean?"

Oton straightened, retrieving his sword. "Charlemagne has foreseen a great conflict, one that will determine the fate of this lostbelt. Perhaps you and your companions are part of that prophecy. Come, let us speak with Charlemagne. He may have answers for you."

Ritsuka looked at his team, who nodded in agreement. "Alright, Oton. Lead the way."

As they followed Oton out of the bar, the tension in the air eased slightly, but Ritsuka knew that their journey was far from over. The true test was yet to come, and the fate of the lostbelt hung in the balance.

Oton looked at the group. Alright attack

As then Ritsuka and eveyrone jumped away, as they saw red chains, as an army of knights, as Ritsuka saw it was a knight in black armoured, black hair holding a red sword as they was Samson about of the palandin

Ritsuka just looked at both. Seciresly what with you knight and ambushing us

Samson just looked at Ritsuka. It is effectively

Oton and Samson watched as the group. Ritsuka's eyes narrowed as he surveyed the battlefield. "So, you're Samson, another of Charlemagne's knights. You sure know how to make an entrance."

Samson smirked, his red sword glowing ominously. "Efficiency is key in combat. You shouldn't be here, travelers."

As the ice storm conjured by Kadoc and Anastasia swirled around them, Ritsuka's vampire wings beat powerfully, lifting him, Romani, and Mash into the air. Kadoc, in his transformed state, followed suit with Anastasia, while Ophelia, in her Break Drive form, used gravity and wind magecraft to support Da Vinci as they ascended.

"Nice coordination," Ophelia noted, her voice slightly strained from the effort. "But we're not out of this yet."

From below, Oton and Samson glared up at the escaping group. "You won't get away that easily," Oton shouted, his sword crackling with energy as he prepared to launch another attack.

Samson raised his red sword, summoning more chains that shot up towards the group in the sky. "We'll bring you down, one way or another."

Ritsuka maneuvered deftly, avoiding the chains with agile twists and turns. "We need a plan," he said, glancing at Romani and Mash.

Romani nodded. "Agreed. We can't keep dodging forever. We need to find a way to neutralize them."

Mash looked determined. "Senpai, if we can get close enough, I can use my shield to create a barrier that might hold them off long enough for us to regroup."

Ritsuka nodded. "Good idea. Let's get in position."

As they swooped back towards the ground, Ritsuka unleashed a barrage of flames from his hands, targeting the chains and knights below. The fire collided with the ice storm, creating a chaotic battlefield of steam and mist.

"Now, Mash!" Ritsuka shouted.

Mash thrust her shield forward, a shimmering barrier expanding from it and encompassing their group. The chains clashed against the barrier but were held at bay by Mash's resolve.

Oton and Samson regrouped, their expressions a mix of frustration and respect. "You've got guts, I'll give you that," Oton said.

Ritsuka, breathing heavily but determined, replied, "We're not here to fight unnecessarily. We need answers, and we need to speak with Charlemagne."

Samson's eyes narrowed. "Charlemagne will only see those who prove themselves worthy. But perhaps... you've shown enough potential."

Oton nodded, lowering his sword slightly. "We'll take you to him. But be warned, this won't be an easy path."

Ritsuka, still holding onto his resolve, looked at his team. "We're ready. Lead the way."

As they moved forward, the tension in the air remained, but there was a glimmer of mutual respect. The journey ahead was uncertain, but Ritsuka and his companions were prepared to face whatever challenges lay in their path to uncover the truth behind this lostbelt.

The group was shown in a forest as Ritsuka and Samson cut down a while beast, it had the head of lion and the body of ancient dinosaurs, as they took Ritsuka just loomed at thr beast wondering if it was a part of proper human history or of this lostbelt

Samson looked at Ritsuka. what we just killed is called a Tarasque, I think Da Vinci has hurd if seeung that she is also French

Ritsuka examined the Tarasque's remains, his curiosity piqued. "A Tarasque, huh? I've read about them in legends, but seeing one in person is something else."

Da Vinci, who had been scanning the area for more threats, walked over and nodded. "The Tarasque is a creature from French folklore, specifically from the region of Provence. It's said to be a dragon-like beast, tamed by Saint Martha. But seeing one here, in this lostbelt, is quite the anomaly."

Samson sheathed his red sword, wiping sweat from his brow. "This lostbelt blends elements of history and myth. Creatures like the Tarasque are common here, and you'll encounter many more anomalies if you stay long enough."

Ritsuka looked at the dense forest around them. "The mana density here is incredible. It feels like we're walking through a world stuck in the Age of Gods."

Romani, catching up with the group, added, "This place defies the normal progression of history. The sheer magical energy here sustains creatures and phenomena long extinct or only ever existed in legends."

Ophelia, still in her Break Drive form, surveyed the surroundings. "We should remain cautious. If mythical beasts like the Tarasque roam these lands, who knows what else might be lurking."

Samson nodded. "You're right. This forest is dangerous, even for us. Stay close and keep your senses sharp."

As they continued their journey, Ritsuka couldn't shake off the feeling that this lostbelt held many secrets, each more bizarre and fascinating than the last. The path ahead was fraught with peril, but it also promised answers to the questions burning in his mind.

"So, Samson," Ritsuka began, "what's it like serving under Charlemagne? How does he keep this place together?"

Samson's expression softened, a hint of admiration in his eyes. "Charlemagne is a leader unlike any other. He's strong, wise, and just. His knights follow him not out of fear, but out of loyalty and respect. In this lostbelt, he's managed to create a realm where myth and reality coexist, where his people can live in peace despite the chaos around them."

Ritsuka nodded thoughtfully. "He sounds like a remarkable king. But we're here to restore proper human history, even if it means facing him and his knights."

Samson's eyes hardened. "I understand. Just know that we won't make it easy for you. Charlemagne's vision for this world is something we're all willing to fight for."

As they approached a clearing, the tension in the air grew thicker. The group could sense that their destination was near, and with it, the confrontation that would determine the fate of this lostbelt.

"Let's keep moving," Ritsuka said, determination in his voice. "We're getting close."

The forest seemed to hold its breath as they pressed forward, each step bringing them closer to the heart of Charlemagne's domain and the answers they sought.

Ritsuka thought more on what Samson said, his mind drifting back to the many singularities they had faced. He noticed a similarity and decided to share it. "Let me tell you about something we faced during our travels," he began, looking at Samson. "There was a singularity ruled by someone named the Lion King."

Samson raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "The Lion King? Go on."

Ritsuka nodded. "It was the 6th Singularity, Camelot. The Lion King was actually Artoria Pendragon, but not the one we know. She had become a divine spirit and ruled over a twisted version of Camelot, enforcing her vision of 'salvation' through an iron fist. Her knights, the Round Table, were fiercely loyal, much like how you described Charlemagne and his paladins."

Samson listened intently, his expression thoughtful. "So, you faced a king who believed in their own version of salvation, even if it meant going against the natural order."

"Exactly," Ritsuka replied. "The Lion King's vision of salvation involved sacrificing humanity's future to protect a select few in the present. It was a tough fight, not just physically, but morally. We had to question our own beliefs and justify our actions against hers."

Da Vinci, joining the conversation, added, "The parallels between the Lion King and Charlemagne are interesting. Both are leaders who, in their own way, sought to create a perfect world. But their methods and the worlds they ruled were deeply flawed."

Samson nodded slowly. "I see the resemblance. Charlemagne's rule in this lostbelt is his way of preserving a world where his people can thrive. But like the Lion King, it seems that this world exists at the expense of proper human history."

Mash, who had been quietly listening, spoke up. "We have to remember why we're here. Restoring proper human history means making difficult choices, even if it means confronting and defeating rulers like Charlemagne who have their own vision of paradise."

Ritsuka placed a hand on Mash's shoulder, giving her a reassuring squeeze. "You're right, Mash. We've faced impossible odds before, and we'll do it again. We have to stay true to our mission."

Samson looked at Ritsuka with a newfound respect. "Your resolve is admirable. Just know that while I understand your mission, I won't back down from defending my king and our world."

Ritsuka met his gaze, determination burning in his eyes. "And we won't back down from ours. Let's move forward and see where this path takes us."

As they continued their journey through the forest, Ritsuka couldn't help but feel a sense of impending conflict. The similarities between their past battles and the current lostbelt weighed heavily on his mind, but he knew that they had to press on. The fate of proper human history depended on it.
