Chapter 4 - A SHORT DREAM.

"Ehm, who are you? Why are...you here? And how do ... you…..know my pass code?" Michelle's gaze shifted from staring right into the brown eyed tall guy with half of his face covered with a mask to his all black dress code. She could calculate he seems to have a mission but is waiting to get a reaction before he preys upon her.

Michelle's eyes turned teary, she tried to close the door straight at his face but she pictured it could trigger the beast in the unknown man. She gulped down on nothing in her mouth and folded her hands around her tummy so tight to hide her shuddered craning, deep shrunk breaths and her rapid heartbeats. The stranger moved closer to her to scare her off and she looked around for any object close to her she could get to any minute before he gets to her even if she knows he isn't so far from her.

His long legs could be used to his advantage but not trying anything for Michelle was much worse than staying still to be hurt. The mopping stick was closer based on her calculations, she looked back at him and found him letting out a wry smile giving off he knows what she is about to do but Michelle ignored and ran as fast as she could to the mopping stick.

She picked it up as fast as she could and turned to hit it on him but hit her best friend, Ariel instead. She gasped for air and threw away the mopping stick. "i…. I... am sorry,Ariel. Oh my goodness! Why are you the one here? Where did he go?" Ariel rushed down to the balcony that shows who is leaving or coming around the quiet area with Michelle.

"Michelle, it is just me. I walked down after getting off the wooden elevator, I struggled with all of these… Ariel shoved all the bags of groceries she had on her right to Michelle's direction before placing it down on the center table….. I also found your place open and I thought to just come in. Who did you see that got you all worked up? Look at you…." Ariel watched as prickles of sweat ran down Michelle's face and decided to help her dab her face with a towel she had in her bag but Michelle raised a hand against her in defense because she was still in shock.

Michelle retired to the floor with both legs scattered in a squat and ran her hands through her hair. She barely could get herself let alone focus on Ariel's kind gesture. "What do you suggest I do, Ariel? I thought today was a happy day. I wanted to share this day with you but I am done for. I am sure he is someone who hurts people. What if he comes back? How does he know my pass code? Did you give anyone my pass code? He did not even utter a word" Ariel rubbed down Michelle's back to help her be in control of her feelings and riled up vent after much contemplation of what went wrong with her friend.

"Ma'am, are you okay?" The woman who slumped on the ground at the adult care centre and was taken care of by Michael tried to figure out who was asking. She slowly raised her hands that had injections and gauze on it to his face carefully and smiled watching him stare down at her in amazement. Michael stayed back for a while and helped her with whatever she needed despite the fact that he felt like he had the permission to stay close to her, he wanted to be careful around her.

"Michael, it's time to go" Tyler reached out through a text message. He picked his bag and covered up the middle aged woman properly but she held his hands softly and patted him as a way to express how grateful she was. He saw her mouth moving but he couldn't hear her clearly so he leaned forward and she whispered into his ears, "Thank you, my love. Come back next time, I will be waiting." Michael stared into her eyes with so much interest.

Michelle's hand on Michael's shoulder while he wrapped his around her waist was a sight to behold at the ball party. They moved slowly to the song playing in the hall. They were the center of attraction, every occupant sat to watch the two love birds express how they feel about each other. "Your eyes are so beautiful," Michelle said to Michael, giving him a big smile.

"Yours are like diamond sparkles," Michael wanted to kiss Michelle badly. His heart started racing and he could hear her heart beat in sync. She carefully dropped her hands to his chest to feel his heart beating while she stared into his eyes. The whole world went silent and the only ones who mattered to each other was Michelle in Michael's arms and Michael holding onto Michelle's waist while they both saw each other's reflection through their eyes. Michelle raised the heels of her leg, held unto Michael's cheek to kiss him.

Poof… She woke up from her sleep. It was all a dream. She jumped out of her bed, ran down the stairs and found her best friend in the kitchen area preparing what she couldn't clearly depict. She knew then for sure, she was just in dream land and all what she wished for that seemed so easy in the dream would not just happen in that manner Or would it?

"He smelled so nice. I could sense an air of arrogance but he also seemed kind" her tank top handle draped down to the middle of her arm, her hair in a messy bun gave off a 'damsel in distress' vibe and her eyes glowed while she leaned on the kitchen cabinet. "Who are you talking about?" Her best friend asked to be sure.

Michelle picked one of the fries, it may seem as though she just forgot what just occurred a few hours ago in her house, anyone who came close to her can tell how beautifully recharged she looked. "The guy I met at the supermarket. As a matter of fact, he gave me his card…."

"Awwww wwwww, so cute" Ariel cut in.

"Yeah, right but I won't be calling him. I have an interview to focus on and when I get the job, I can keep paying my parents' debt and also move away from here" Michelle sighed. Deep down, reality set in, she knew it might be harder than she had analyzed for it to be.

"First off, what can you tell me about who you saw? Nothing? You do not want to talk about it. Okay, what harm will it do you to call him? it's been two years since you left Darius, maybe a little bit over two years and someone who seems more presentable gave you a card to call him and you won't? What if it is for work? Your parents debts are a lot if I must lay it to you. Have a rethink and call him now that you feel better." Ariel resumed back to making chicken nuggets, cheese and fries.

"Thanks for helping me with all of these. You are the best friend anyone could ever ask for." Michelle hugged Ariel from the back after checking her refrigerator to take water and found different food essentials in it. "I will be spending at least two weeks with you before returning to Ghana. I hope you found a job by then and you are so busy, 'we do not have to worry'. Michelle mouthed the last words with Ariel aware of how much she repeats it.

"Are you sure you want me to find that girl if she doesn't call you in a week? I mean she is a stranger? She might be a bait or a bad person sent by your father's lawyer. Who knows?" Tyler brought it up on their way home. "I should expect you to trust how strong my instincts are. That girl doesn't know who I am. She doesn't know where I am from in fact"

"What if she is pretending to not know? What if she wants to act like she doesn't know so she could get to you? I mean that's easy to do. Have you forgotten what many girls that you met tried to do to you and with you?" Tyler sounded like Michael's wife grumbling about the fact her husband wouldn't have breakfast prepared by her anymore before going to work. He raised his eyebrow in hopes that Michael would get it.

"Well, maybe for you, not for everyone please" Michael hooted at the gate to get the gateman at his residence to come open. "Who in the world is that? Are you seeing who I am seeing? Or are my eyes playing games with me?" Tyler raised his head, baffled about what the day is going to bring just when it is about to end.

"I can see clearly. It is Angela."
