It was a Friday night, Phoebe and Piper were at Prue's house, in the bedroom of Prue. Phoebe doesn't know what the other two girls did last summer and they were going to tell her before she finds out by anyone else.
Piper was pacing back and forth in front of Phoebe, biting her nails nervously.
"Piper! Can you just say what you have to say?" Phoebe watched her friend. "You are freaking me out even more."
Piper sighed heavily and nodded once. She stood in front of Phoebe and looked over at Prue, asking if it was a good idea or not.
Prue nodded.
"It was last summer, Prue and I were drunk and high, and we were driving down this road where…" she tilted her head back slightly, looking up at the ceiling. "And this guy was walking and we didn't see him. We…we hit him with my car. We panicked and I saw this little house and Prue was crying and screaming about the whole thing. I got this idea to put him in the house. So, Prue and I put him in there and it's been abandoned for years. No one was going to look for him in there," she explained, it was all coming out and it felt good to admit it out loud.
Phoebe's eyes were wide, in horror and shock. Her mouth was open wide, staring at Piper and then at Prue. "You guys should have called the police!" she cried out. "Or something! He could have still been alive!"
"Shhh!" Prue shushed her. "He was dead when he hit the ground. We couldn't have done anything to save him. He had no heartbeat, he wasn't breathing."
"I can't believe this. I-I can't…believe this…" she breathed out, her eyes filling with tears. "So this is what the killer has on you guys?" she asked, looking at them both.
The two girls nodded.
"We regret it since that day," said Prue, tears threatening to spill out.
Nobody said anything for a few minutes, they all sat in silence. An occasionally a sniffle from Prue.
A loud chime came from one of the girl's phones, making them all jump and their hearts beating hard. All three of the girls picked up their phones checking to make sure it was one of them.
Prue let out a soft gasp, she looked up at the other two girls.
"It's from the killer," she whispered to them.
Phoebe's and Piper's eyes widen in horror. "What did the killer say?" they say in unison.
"It's a picture of Piper and I… From that night…" She turned her phone toward them and only two words were above the picture: I know.
Piper and Phoebe covered their mouth with their hands.
The girls couldn't believe this. They couldn't believe they were being watched by the killer.
They were supposed to be having fun this year. This was their senior year at Spartan High. This was their year. They didn't ask for this.
"How did we not notice that someone was watching us, Piper?" Prue said, her voice cracking.
"I don't know, Prue, but they know that we did it and we can't go telling the police or to our parents. We have to stick together. All three of us."
Prue and Phoebe nodded their heads.
There was nothing else to do except for following the killer's orders.
"We gotta go, Phoebe," Piper said with a sigh, standing up as she walked over toward the door. "We will see you later at the Carnival."
Prue said goodbye as she followed Piper out of the door and into their cars.
Phoebe watched them leave as slowly walked toward her dresser where a sippy cup was sitting. She turned it over so that the bottom was facing up and turned off the recording.
She replayed it and listened to it, making sure that it worked. "We…we hit with my car. We panicked…" Then she stopped, and a soft smile came to her lips as she set it back down on the dresser.
She couldn't believe that they had confessed to it. It was so easy too.
Maybe working with this killer isn't so bad after all. Now she has some dirt on the two girls that could send them to jail.
