Bowing to the relentless pressure from the Consortium members, Byron Thorne scrambled to convene another emergency gathering at the Trinity Hotel's penthouse suite.
It was rather ironic, he mused to himself before the first member graced the luxurious space with his or her presence.
In February, he held an emergency gathering because Atticus Bates was involved in an explosive accident. At the end of the meeting, Miriam Schlinger was entrusted with the grave and yet honorable task of continuing the DOTTE Project.
This time, a cruel twist of fate necessitated another emergency gathering of opposite nature. Miriam Schlinger perished during an "accident", and Atticus Bates arrived to take the reins.
