Despite the squad's success in retrieving Dr. Miriam Schlinger in a viable state, a post-exposure examination by the Intensive Care Unit revealed a rather dire prognosis.
"Intervention options are limited," the emergency physician stated gravely. "The slow-acting toxin is systematically compromising her organ function. Unfortunately, her expected survival window is narrow β mere hours at best."
Maximillian's gaze fell upon the scientist's figure, a still form on the sterile bed, her eyelids fluttering ever so slightly.
"If eliciting a confession is a priority," the doctor continued, "we could attempt a transient arousal from her current torpor, though it would likely be a stressful and potentially detrimental course of action. Not that it makes any difference at this point."
"Understood," Maximillian nodded in apprehension. "Thank you, Doctor."
