Even after Cassandra slept over it, she was unable to overcome the humiliation she felt the previous day.
The first day of the symposium ended in such a crappy manner. Cassandra was not in the mood to bury her head in heavy discussions for the next two days at all.
Thankfully, the hotel offered an amazing breakfast experience near their expansive pool, allowing Cassandra to unwind before the busy day commenced.
Cassandra sank into a lounge chair, the warm sun already chasing away the remnants of the night. Lost in thought, she strategized her next move to draw Maximillian into her orbit. But her quiet contemplation was shattered as another figure plopped down in the empty chair beside her.
"Hi, Cassie," her rival in love beamed at her.
Eyes bulging from shock, Cassandra almost choked on her orange juice.
"Y-You," she sputtered. "Why are you here?"
"Why not?"
