"It has been a while since we met last time, Agent Grant," Cassandra's voice dropped to a purr as she fluttered her eyelids at Maximillian, a seductive invitation playing on her lips. "You have only become more handsome with the time."
Maximillian tilted his black umbrella slightly, prompting the rainwater to slide off to the ground.
"Indeed. It has been a year since we collaborated on that case."
It pleased Cassandra to hear Maximillian group them together into a "we".
"Right."
Cassandra resisted the urge to touch the delicious male alpha.
"You kept rejecting my invitation for a meal. Why don't we go for dinner tonight? I know a great pizza place nearby."
Maximillian smiled.
"I am sorry, but I have a boyfriend."
"Oh, I know."
A layer of ice settled on Cassandra's gaze when she spoke next.
"You are here to pick up your boyfriend, Julian Haas."
