"Now that is a surprise," Maximillian remarked when he found Julian and Eugene in the kitchen, preparing dinner together.
"Master, welcome home!" Eugene cheerfully greeted Maximillian while stirring a soup pot.
"Hi, Eugene."
Maximillian put his arms around Julian's body from behind and inhaled the omega's sweet scent.
"Hello, my love."
"Hi," Julian stopped chopping onions and turned his head to the side to give Maximillian a peck on the lips. "You came back in time."
Amusement rippled in Maximillian's eyes.
"In time for?"
"For a private welcome-back party."
Maximillian chuckled.
"Had I been away so long that you had to throw me a welcome-back party?"
"Have you been away for so long that you forgot all about me?" Julian asked in retort.
A smirk tugged on Maximillian's lips.
"How can I forget?"
The alpha gently bit into Julian's nape, drawing a gasp from the omega.
