Having been given permission to rest at home for the rest of the day, Julian was more than happy to comply. The alpha and omega couple exited the Institute building and walked toward the parking lot, where Maximillian's sleek hover car stood in waiting.
"I wasn't aware that you planned to speak to Dr. Koch about the incidents in Vienna," Julian spoke after they both climbed into the car.
A tight smile played at the corners of Maximillian's lips as he activated the hover car with his key.
"I know that you can fight your own battles," he reached out to swipe Julian's right cheek gently. "But I still want to be there for you. It is important for me."
Julian took Maximillian's hand and pressed a kiss against his rough palm.
"It feels good to have you at my back. How can I criticize you for loving me?"
"Oh, dear..."
