Chapter 89 - Cresthill

"How do you even know how to ride a horse?" Melchior asked out of the blue.

Lia rolled her eyes. "Why wouldn't I know how to ride one? Don't lump me in with ignorant people,"

They rode through the forest path at a fairly quick pace. The goal was to reach Cresthill town before night. It was easily achievable as long as they didn't run into annoying problems or didn't stop to waste time.

It was mostly silent since they weren't all familiar enough with themselves to make banter. Lia, surprisingly, didn't talk as often as he had expected her to do. She seemed content just being in the freedom of the outside world. Well, that was how he wanted to view it.

Instead, the girl groaned to herself from time to time, as if grappling with some hidden struggles.

'I'm going to regret it, but...'

Melchior bit the bullet.

"What is it? Why do you keep groaning?"

She turned to him with a sheepish grin.
