Chapter 95 - Stein

Night came quickly. No evident change was present in the town, except the ever present glow of lights that shone through the windows of most of the small houses. But even then, it was only a small fraction of houses that dared use their lamps with such reckless abandon.

Most of them kept their houses dark or very dimly lit. It was sad. To be scared to even turn on the lights in your own home.

Mel and the rest of the soldiers had found a spot in one of the inns. The owner had been incredibly reluctant to let all six of them in, but he eventually caved in after considering the 'consequences'.

He snorted, 'How terrible is the bullying with soldiers?'

If it was up to him, he wouldn't try to exert any unnecessary pressure. However, it seemed like other soldiers didn't abide by those principles.

Whatever the case was, they got separate rooms in the empty inn, then left through the windows after.
