Melchior zipped through the forest in an irregular pattern, pushing Spirit Mind's Eye to its maximum capacity. The traces of subtle spirit energy movement allowed him to create a good image of everything around him.
And so far, nothing. He leapt from tree to tree, then to the ground, but there was absolutely nothing that stood out differently from the rest of the terrain.
He especially paid a lot of attention to the ground in search of beast prints or something that could indicate the presence of a humanoid monster.
There was not a lot of hope for that, but he searched still. All the while trying to figure out why Kalira had lied.
Melchior wasn't by any means some sort of sage that could tell lies from the truth, but he could see as clear as day that she had lied about spotting a beast that took someone. Logically speaking, if she really had, and she really cared, she would have sent a report to Nodor immediately.
