Chapter 209 - Loss of Pain

It's 'why do you have time to bully children', not 'why are you bullying children'.

Matsuda Jinpei was not surprised that Ichijō Mirai was bullying children, but that Ichijō Mirai was bullying children as if it was justified.

Ichijō Mirai looked over deeply and clarified, "I didn't bully her, she cried because she lost her mom," and asked Morofushi Hiromitsu about it.

and asked Morofushi Hiromitsu, "Right?"

Morofushi Hiromitsu gave a thoughtful look as if he had suddenly remembered some philosophical question about life, and after a few seconds, he logically forgot the question and asked Matsuda Jinpei, "Did something happen?"

He avoided answering.

Normally, Matsuda Jinpei would have immediately understood the meaning of his words, and would have stared at Ichijō Mirai for bullying a child, but now, as if he didn't react, with an expression that was still somewhat hidden, he nodded hurriedly and reached out to take Ichijō Mirai by the shoulders, "It's something, I want to talk to him alone."

Ichijō Mirai did not resist, nor did the child.

They followed for a few steps before Matsuda Jinpei suddenly realized something was wrong, and turned his head to look at the child, who looked like a little tail, "...what's wrong?"

"Is he being bullied by this brother?" He surmised, still in a bit of a hurry, "I'll help you teach this brother a lesson later, okay? Right now we're going to talk about something important."

The child visibly hesitated, his hand loosening a bit, then clenching again, seemingly not in the manner of a bullied crybaby, but also in the manner of an attached child.

Matsuda Jinpei thought for a moment, letting go of Ichijō Mirai and half squatting down to talk to the child, "How did this guy bully you just now?"

"He looks so cheerful, doesn't he? In fact, every day, he's just messing with the classmates' mindset, we'll all get high blood pressure sooner or later, and even if he's messing with the classmates' mindset, he's still picking on the little kid," He said, half coaxing, half scaring.

He made a face, half coaxing, half scaring, "Have you heard of the legend of the fox? Looks very beautiful, extraordinarily smart, but especially careful, full of bad taste, looks very good temper is actually black hearted, specializing in teasing people."

"And they take children, just like when you see a fox marrying, and the weakest children can be taken."

Ichijō Mirai, listening to these 100% slanderous words, casually pressed Matsuda Jinpei's curly hair, "Hey, stop it."

Raising his chin to indicate Morofushi Hiromitsu, he said to the small child, "Let's go to the side and talk for a few minutes, and let the real 'seemingly good-tempered, but actually black-hearted' brother take you to the police, shall we?"

"Your parents will definitely call the police when they realize you're not at the amusement park anymore, and as long as you find the police, you'll be able to find your parents, it's easy to find."

The child hesitated for a few moments, slowly let go of his hand, and took three steps towards Morofushi Hiromitsu.

Matsuda Jinpei immediately dragged Ichijō Mirai away.

He was in a real hurry, so much so that he lowered his voice as he walked, saying the reason for his haste, "What have you done to me?"

"I feel no pain!"

To a normal person, this is horrible.

It's not like playing a game. Suddenly losing your sense of pain is a convenience, but it's also a lot of trouble, and for police officers, the most obvious trouble is that they can't tell what's going on with their wounds.

Other police officers who have been shot can quickly determine the extent of their own injuries, and then make some choices, whether to stop the bleeding, emergency evacuation, or grit their teeth and continue to rush, while the loss of pain in the police, may not even know that they have been shot in the abdomen, but also hot blood towards the world of strenuous exercise.

Some wounds can be dealt with in time, but if left untreated, they can become fatal.

Losing the sense of pain gives every wound equal power to kill.

Matsuda Jinpei was confused when he realized that he had lost his sense of pain, and then remembered Ichijō Mirai's careless remark, 'You can't feel it anyway.'

Ichijō Mirai: "Ah, you said that."

Of course, it's because Matsuda Jinpei was shot in the last archive.

Although it's fine if you read the file.

Even though Ichijō Mirai didn't need to block the shot, and could have easily avoided it if Matsuda Jinpei hadn't rushed him.

And so on and so forth.

But at that point, Matsuda Jinpei was running to take the bullet for Ichijō Mirai.

And since the hostage-taker in the group hadn't been exposed yet, and hadn't suddenly risen up to shoot, Ichijō Mirai decided to wait.

He has a clear sense of honor: he can shoot Onidzuka Hachizo without blinking an eye, but he can also greet Onidzuka Hachizo warmly with a smile on his face.

The same goes for Matsuda Jinpei, who he would not hesitate to kill if he had to, to use Matsuda Jinpei's life to test the way to pass the level, or to feed him painkillers.

Now, Ichijō Mirai asks more carelessly, "By the way, what did you just say about me?"

Careful, bad taste.

"Say it again."

Matsuda Jinpei: "..."

"Kind and generous, almost as moral as the wooden omamori you're wearing," He gritted his teeth, his grip on Ichijō Mirai's shoulders even stronger and more threatening, "Say it!"

Ichijō Mirai replied, "A little painkiller."

"Didn't you guys wonder for a long time why I can train all day long and still feel like no one's around, even in the beginning, when everyone else over-trained on the first day and collectively ached all over on the second day, it's like I didn't feel a thing, it's because of the painkillers, they only take effect for a couple of hours, and after a couple of hours the pain comes back to you."

"From the drugstore."

Sensing a glance behind him, he glanced back sideways and saw Morofushi Hiromitsu holding a small child, his tone was still casual, "I fed you one in passing when I called out from behind you and covered your mouth,"

Then he asked, "You didn't feel it?"

Without waiting for Matsuda Jinpei's answer, he went on, more casually making up a reason, "There were too many robbers, and when we attacked we might get hurt, and if we got hurt, we would lose one of our fighters, and there would be an imbalance in the numbers of the two sides."

Matsuda Jinpei: "Yes, is it?"

Because Ichijō Mirai was too righteous, he recalled uncertainly, "That's when you fed me painkillers? I didn't feel it."

"Maybe you wanted to yell at me so badly that you swallowed your words," Ichijō Mirai asked again, knowingly, "How did you notice that you were hurt?"

Matsuda Jinpei's back was injured.

It was accidentally blown up, and he didn't realize it until Furuya Rei noticed the blood on his back after they finished tying up the robbers, and he realized it as an afterthought.

It wasn't a large bloodstain, only half the size of a palm, and it was slowly stained, not noticeable during the emergency of the battle, but in the seemingly everyday windy streets, walking alongside the bloodstained Ichijō Mirai, the bloodstained bloodstain became noticeable.

At least Morofushi Hiromitsu noticed it easily.

He stared at the bloodstain for a moment, his brow slowly furrowing in confusion, and then after a moment, he walked on with the child, back to the convenience store.

The police still hadn't arrived.

Furuya Rei was standing guard at the entrance of the convenience store, and spotted Morofushi Hiromitsu, waved, then stared in disbelief, "This child?"

"Mirai-san ran into her on the road," Morofushi Hiromitsu replied, "She was separated from her parents."

He added, "The child can't speak."

He looked sideways again, in the direction he had come from, thinking about the few scattered words he had just heard, and was a bit puzzled, "I'm a bit surprised, though."

"Mirai-san actually knows sign language."
