The cadets were split up.
Furuya Rei was sitting at the bar, sipping a glass of wine, but actually observing his surroundings without moving.
His eyes swept past a small door at the far end of the bar and confirmed that this was one of the back doors.
There were two back doors, but the bar's back door was abandoned because it was too close to the bartender and had a high probability of spooking the bartender.
But: "There's a young woman on your left, talk to her and ask the bartender to make her a drink."
Ichijō Mirai's voice came through the headset, his tone was calm, a statement.
Furuya Rei was subconsciously stunned for a moment, and subconsciously scanned his surroundings just in time to see a young woman take a seat beside him.
The young woman was also looking at herself, and she winked with a smile.
There weren't many people at the bar, only three or four, and only one woman.
...How did Ichijō Mirai know that she had just taken her seat?
The small door on the inside of the bar moved, as if someone had tried to push it from the outside, and Furuya Rei caught a glimpse of it, and immediately struck up a conversation with the bartender, asking him to make the young woman next to her a drink in a casual tone, as if she were a regular at the bar.
The bartender was used to this and skillfully made a drink.
While he was mixing the drink, a small door inside the bar moved, pushed open, and a uniformed police cadet pushed down on his headset. He seemed to be listening to someone, not even looking at the bartender or the outside world as he was crouching on the floor, and stepped silently into the back of the liquor cabinet.
Behind the liquor cabinet was backstage.
After the cadet enters, another cadet crouches and silently enters, again without lifting his head, again concentrating on his earpiece.
Then came the third.
There were five cadets in the first group, and two were still outside the door.
But the bartender had already finished making the drinks and was about to turn his head at any moment with a vague sense of foreboding.
Furuya Rei's eyebrow twitched, and he was about to draw attention to himself again when he saw the figure on the other side of the bar's edge open up and draw the bartender in.
It was Kenji Hagiwara.
His hair was a bit long, and when he changed into his regular clothes, it was casually tucked in, making him look like a lover.
With a smile on his face, he gestured a direction with his chin and said with a low smile, "Please serve that lady a sweet drink that suits her."
The bartender looked over and suddenly hesitated, "You mean the prettiest lady?"
He smiled politely, "I'm sorry, that's the lady, she doesn't accept drinks from customers."
The 'lady' must be the lover of one of the bar keepers or owners.
Furuya Rei's eyes seemed to freeze for a moment when he saw Kenji Hagiwara's smiling eyes, but he quickly apologized, and after a few seconds, sidled his head in the direction of the headset as if he had heard something, and turned his head to meet Furuya Rei's eyes and shrugged his shoulders with a bitter smile.
He picked up his drink and stood up, leaving the bar and sitting directly to the side of the 'lady', smiling and saying something.
The 'lady' eyes flowed, stopping some fidgety people around her, lifting up her red lips, also whispering something.
"..." Furuya Rei silently withdrew his gaze.
Rationally, he knew that Kenji Hagiwara must have been responsible for drawing some attention to the police cadets and delaying their discovery as long as possible.
But... fortunately, he wasn't the one who was hitting on him.
He looked down as if nothing had happened, sweeping over the door that had been reclosed as if it had never been moved, and recalled that the first person to successfully sneak in just now seemed to be Hashimoto Yūhito.
Hashimoto Yūhito was glad.
Over the headset, Ichijō Mirai's calmly stating voice came through, "Go ten steps further, stop at the stairway, and gather all the noise and wait for this shift to pass by."
Hashimoto Yūhito acted according to the instruction, even though there was no one outside the stairway in his vision, he didn't hesitate to stand close to the hallway, making himself invisible in the dead zone of the outsiders' field of vision, while at the same time being even more fortunate that he was able to know 'Kujō-san'.
Kujō-san's command was so precise that he even counted the steps!
For a police academy student who had never been in an infiltration operation before, this kind of command method of compassionate retardation was a god!!!!
"Forty seconds."
In the headset, Ichijō Mirai counted down, "Twenty-five seconds."
"Twenty seconds. The bandits are passing."
There were footsteps, and two men walked by, both carrying guns on their person, just not drawn, one of them a little wary, chatting casually about the police operation.
The other was a bit indifferent, cursing and expecting Matsumoto Kiyonaga to die, preferably without any help.
The first was not hopeful, "It took so long for the resuscitation to fail, so he probably survived... Gee, I heard it was a shotgun... That's a good life."
They walked down the long corridor as they talked.
"Let's go."
Hashimoto Yūhito immediately stooped down and followed, noiselessly on soft shoes, with the other four cadets following in turn.
"The people in the surveillance room saw the person who came to take over the shift and were already packing up for the handover, so they didn't look at the surveillance for the time being." Ichijō Mirai explained, "The second team has successfully infiltrated the first floor."
He said, "Stop."
Hashimoto Yūhito had just reached the corner of a corridor and was about to turn, when he stopped.
Beyond the corner of the corridor was an elevator, and a few steps further on was a small bar and a surveillance room.
This floor was reserved for internal staff, and because of yesterday's police action, there was no one at the bar to relax.
"Get ready to attack when the shift change bandits pass by."
"No guns."
"No. 1 and No. 2 are in charge of the attack, cover your mouth in the first step, twist your neck in the second, don't let go when you're hit in the stomach by the elbow, keep covering your mouth, and the rest of you assist in the attack."
A group of five cadets, number five.
Hashimoto Yūhito, number one, immediately responded, and waited for a minute for the two off-duty bandits to come out of the surveillance room.
He immediately followed the instructions.
At the same time, Ichijō Mirai said in a calm tone, "Well done, Team Two No. 2."
Team Two Two let go of one of the bandits in his arms, adrenaline pumping, hands trembling, "I... I killed..."
He hears Ichijō Mirai's compliment and takes a deep breath, calming down a bit, his gaze firming up.
"You're not killing, you're saving people he's going to kill in the future," Ichijō Mirai reassured gently, and knowing that Two would be composed enough not to fall off the wagon, he added, "Surveillance moving to the right."
"Two, sneak to the door from the left."
"No. 5, go to the greenery in the corridor, so that the people in the monitoring room can see but not sure, to attract attention for a group of people."
One minute later.
Ichijō Mirai: "Very good."
He announces the results, "Team one has successfully hacked into the surveillance room and is in the process of cracking the code, and team two has successfully infiltrated the lower level."
"No living organisms were detected during the operation, no shots were fired."
He said in a deep voice: "...Very good."
So you guys can do it. Then why were you so bad at it?
