There was something about this student...
Ichijō Mirai looked at him for a few moments and wondered if Yokosu Daichi was a bit of a white knight who was deliberately taking revenge on the police who were after him, or if he was just empty-headed and didn't think too much about it.
However, if he was, he wouldn't be in this predicament.
"On my way here, I met two of my classmates and escorted them to a safe house," he gestured for Yokosu Daichi to follow, and turned to walk outside, "There's another safe house nearby, I'll escort you there later."
"But for now, there's another student nearby, go meet him first."
And then, he said, "Next time you're being chased, choose a residential area that's densely populated, as it will take some time for the police to collect the information."
Yokosu Daichi followed Ichijō Mirai, and after leaving the room and stepping into the corridor, he saw sporadic traces of police officers.
They were all lying down.
The owner of the villa had stayed on the first floor and had not followed the police officers upstairs to search, so they were lying in the hall on the first floor, all of them motionless.
"Classmate?" Yokosu Daichi avoided the humanoid objects on the floor and thought, "Is it Furuya-san and the others?"
"When I came here, there weren't many police officers in the neighborhood, and there was no movement to hunt down the others."
That means that at the time he was being chased, that student was not in a state of being chased, and had some ability.
Also, "You and Furuya-san are on the best of terms."
Although Ichijō Mirai seemed to be very easy to get along with, very, very nice, like a savior, always smiling, looking towards his companions, a sun-like existence, he seemed to be quite distant when he wasn't training.
So distant that even with admiration, most of the cadets would not have the courage to say something to Ichijō Mirai at the end of the training session, or simply greet him, but would just watch him either sneak off alone or go to the cafeteria with Furuya Rei and the others.
In Yokosu Daichi's opinion, if a classmate was in danger, Ichijō Mirai, like the sun, wouldn't hesitate to lend a helping hand, but just 'meeting a classmate' was a bit biased in favor of the more intimate classmates.
Ichijō Mirai nodded, "Yes."
He closes the door to the villa, adding a thoughtful reminder that no one even cares: "They're all unconscious and could be attacked, so it's safer to close the door."
Emphasis added: no one died.
That should have been a point of concern.
"He's nearby," Ichijō Mirai glanced at Yokosu Daichi again, "and seems to be in good shape, out of training and into work quickly."
Yokosu Daichi: "?"
"Into work"?
He followed Ichijō Mirai with a puzzled look on his face, realizing that the two of them seldom took the main road, but rather took various isolated paths or went straight over the wall, with their final destination being five or six blocks away from the villa.
As the day dawned, many stores were open, such as the 24-hour convenience store, but in addition to the convenience store, there was another place that was open: the auto repair store.
It wasn't really an auto store that was open, just the back door of the auto store.
At the back door was a small, warehouse-like area where a car was parked with incandescent lights illuminating the details of the car.
Next to the car, a mechanic was half-crouching and dismantling it.
With his black hair and an auto store uniform, his body covered in gasoline, he looked like a dedicated employee, one who worked at five in the morning to the delight of the capitalists.
Ichijō Mirai strides over.
Yokosu Daichi, following in his footsteps, tried to stop him, "Hey, Kujō-san, there's a staff member there. Will we be able to walk over there like this...?"
She was really worried about stopping them.
Until the staff turned their heads.
When the discouragement came to an abrupt end, Yokosu Daichi was dumbfounded: "Ma-Matsuda-san?"
For a moment, he saw Matsuda Jinpei's matted black hair move, and his body shifted from slack to tense, then back to slack again, as if he wanted to run away the moment he heard his name called.
Not as if, but as if.
"Kujō?"
"Tsk," Matsuda Jinpei stood up, a little irritated, "almost a habitual retreat."
In just half a day, he'd gotten into the habit of turning his head and running.
Thanks to the police.
As a grateful police cadet, Matsuda Jinpei frowned at Ichijō Mirai and Yokosu Daichi with the growing thought of 'let's beat up the Inspector General of Police somehow', "What are you guys doing together..."
In the middle of his sentence, he changed his voice, "Oh I know, you're saving people again with your kindness."
This was said to Ichijō Mirai.
Matsuda Jinpei moved his arms and neck that were a little sore, and yawned with black eyes, "Well, I knew you were the most annoying kind of hot-blooded police officer who would never let go of an opportunity to save someone."
'The most annoying'.
Ichijō Mirai opens the Enemy list and casually glances at it, realizing that there's more than just Gin on it, and that another enemy has been quietly added to the list, making a total of two now.
[Gin|Healthy|Happy|Four stars]
[Rum|Healthy Happy|Three stars]
He looked at it for a few more moments, then opened his friend list, and found that it had quietly increased by almost ten, including Furuya Rei and the others, and the ones to watch out for were:
[Gin|Healthy|Happy|One star]
[Calvados|Healthy|Happy|Three stars]
[Matsuda Jinpei|Tired|Slight mood swings|One star].
'One star'.
"Uh-huh-huh," Ichijō Mirai looked at the prompt a few more times, nodded in perfunctory agreement, "Yes, yes, yes, you're right about hating me the most."
And smiles, pulling the hate value even further, "Do you ever watch the news?"
"You're sometimes, no, you're a pain in the ass," Matsuda Jinpei queried, "What news?"
Ichijō Mirai smiled brightly, "It's an interview, it's interesting, it's even on the replay."
"It seems that a car driven by a police officer and dressed as a police academy instructor was involved in an accident on the road," he said with a serious tone of regret, "the car suddenly lost control, and a young blonde man was thrown off of it, which was captured on the street interviews, and it caused quite a stir."
Matsuda Jinpei: "?"
Police academy car, out of control car, blonde young man, these key words in unison agreement, together formed a reaction: "Poof."
"I told you there was something wrong with that car! The instructor even kicked me out! Hahaha it's actually that guy in the car!"
"It caused quite a stir," Ichijō Mirai repeats with a smile, "I heard that keywords like 'public', 'bondage', 'blindfolded', 'blonde', and '2V1' came out of their mouths on the spot, and everyone was very excited."
Matsuda Jinpei: "?"
...What keywords?
"It can't be helped," Ichijō Mirai shook his head, "The unfortunate blonde classmate was blindfolded when he was thrown off the bus, and seemed to be having a bit of fun."
He regretted, "There were street interviewers there, and the instructors noticed in advance that if they took off the blindfold, their faces would appear in the camera, so they had no choice but to retreat with the blindfold on."
He thoughtfully added, "According to my eyes, he didn't even have time to take his cell phone."
He let out a sigh, "What an unfortunate blonde, alas."
He was a bit surprised, "But it's amazing that Matsuda-san seems to be associated with such coincidental misfortune."
He smiled, "Matsuda-san, you don't want blonde classmate to know about it either, do you?"
