Good news: sniper bullets are too large a caliber, unlike pistol bullets, and only managed to hit half of Uemoto Tarō's waist and abdomen with pinpoint accuracy, causing him to GG.
Bad news: the mission is to protect Uemoto Tarō.
There's a clue to all of this, as the tone in which Rum refers to Uemoto Tarō isn't that of a stranger, or contemptuous of the police, but rather that of a disgruntled acquaintance.
Also, the game hints that the basic mission objective is 'Uemoto Tarō is seriously injured', so if you think about it carefully and calmly, perhaps those who read the hints will realize that the mission is not to assassinate Uemoto Tarō, but to protect him.
Ichijō Mirai was very calm: "**."
At the system's [Please play in a civilized manner. Unharmonious speech has been automatically blocked], he politely greeted Rum with, "Are you incapable of speaking human language?"
Without giving Rum a second to slowly say 'So, you did kill Uemoto Tarō, right?', he immediately reloaded the save.
The hustle and bustle was far away, and then it came down again, and people from 700 meters away enthusiastically gathered around Uemoto Tarō for an interview.
Uemoto Tarō stood in the doorway, showing his face in every direction to indicate that he was the man himself, and he happily accepted the interview.
Rum was still talking, "This is a difficult mission, and if you fail, you will be delayed in getting your codename, so you must do your best to keep Uemoto Tarō's life safe."
"Of course," he said casually, "the enemy is a group of guys that Uemoto guy himself caused, those guys are crazy to chase and bite people, you see the situation to decide, if it's going to bite you, you save yourself."
"You're more important than that guy."
Only if the mission fails, Ichijō Mirai's codename will be pushed back even further.
But it doesn't matter.
"You're a Codename member."
Rum was certain: "It's only a matter of time."
"Only a living person can become a Codename Member."
That's a good point.
Ichijō Mirai shifted his aim down, looked steadily at Uemoto Tarō's head, which was overlapping the aim again, and sighed, "You're such a cute guy."
"I'm looking forward to meeting you."
Kill as soon as you meet.
Don't show your face for the rest of your life, and sleep with two eyes on guard at night.

Rum: "?"
Suddenly complimented, I think it was 'cute', Rum was stuck for a few moments, "What?"
He reacted for a few seconds between 'Is this being sarcastic?' and 'Isn't this sarcasm too sudden and inexplicable?' before laughing a few times, "Haha, are you unhappy?"
"Fine, fine."
And continued, "From the day you were discovered by the organization when you were seven years old, you were destined to become a member of the organization and work for the organization, even if you were unhappy about it."
It's not that I'm unhappy about it, but I'm unhappy with the guy who doesn't understand the point at all.
"Speak human language," Ichijō Mirai stared at Uemoto Tarō's face in the scope, "Who are the enemies, how many are there, and how will they attack?"
Rum once again surrendered with both hands, "Okay, okay."
"You didn't read the file...I see."
Even though he was certain that Ichijō Mirai was definitely a codename member, the only difference was whether he would become a codename member in a month, three months, or a year, Rum still treated Ichijō Mirai like a colleague.
People in the organization were used to shutting up and not asking too many questions, especially when Rum's status was higher than most of the codename members.
If he wanted to get someone to cooperate with him, even an ordinary codename member would know how to shut up and not ask too many questions, not ask that much at all, but just look at the file to make sure that he didn't misidentify the target, and didn't need to know the circumstances of the case.
"That Uemoto guy," he explained to Ichijō Mirai what wasn't in the file, "the organization put him on the council."
"One of his hobbies is being a magician. He often visits various magic masters and practices privately. The guy who targeted him this time was because of magic."
Because it had almost nothing to do with the organization, and it was Uemoto Tarō who got in trouble with his own strength, Rum said impatiently, "He admires the recently famous magician very much, and has visited him many times to become his disciple and purchase magic manuscripts."
"The name of that master magician must ring a bell," he said slowly, "Kuroba Touichi."
Then, after an appropriate pause, he said meaningfully, "You get the picture."
"You've been away from the organization for so many years. Given your ability to attract the organization's attention, you must have found out a lot of secrets, otherwise you wouldn't have returned to the organization in the end."
Ichijō Mirai: "?"
He filed, "I don't understand."
"I sincerely urge you," He said, understanding a bit of Gin's feelings, "to speak human language."

Polite greetings over, Ichijō Mirai reads the file and goes for the condescension, "I didn't find out much about the secret, and returned to the Organization just thinking it was the best place for me."
"I don't know anything about the organization."
Rum doesn't believe it.
He shows his disbelief, "Really? Haha."
After thinking about the terrorist attack of one person, he couldn't help but agree, "The organization is indeed the best place for you."
If there comes a time when the Organization is no longer a good fit for Ichijō Mirai, it'll be because this guy's gotten crazier.
The one who pretended to know nothing was Ichijō Mirai, not the other members of the organization. Rum was patient and willing to cooperate. "Kuroba Touichi is an international magician."
"He even caused a trend in magic in Japan."
"Even that Uemoto guy got into magic because he admired him."
"Kuroba Touichi was always in contact with the upper class, and attended parties where he saw the host family's jewelry collection," Rum said in a rather unconcerned tone, "I guess that's why those guys were attracted to him."
He wasn't sure, "But they haven't done anything yet, they're just watching from the shadows, they've snuck up on a lot of guys who have access to the jewels, not just the magician, but also a couple of thieves, like the famous Phantom Lady."
The magician wasn't important enough to care about, what Rum cared about was: "All the organization's current codenames are for wine, and all the codenames for that group of crazies are for animals, and they're targeting all sorts of gems."
"Uemoto is a member of the high society, and he was targeted by those guys when he tried to visit Kuroba Touichi one after another, and let it be known that he had acquired a gemstone suitable for use as a magic tool. They are similar to our organization in that they have a history of killing people, so they decided to kill Uemoto and take the jewel, regardless of what he was up to."
"Today is the day."
The good thing is, "He's going to bow and apologize for you."
"Kill him now, and the people will think it was you."
"As far as I know, the guy responsible for the assassination is an action guy with a lot of mercenaries who could be hiding in the crowd for a close-range attack or sniping from a distance."
"The meeting will last for three hours, most of their men must have been in the neighborhood by now, did you notice anything strange, did you find any other snipers?"
["You've acquired an unknown information, 'Kuroba Touichi'.]
[You have obtained a piece of unknown intelligence: 'An organization using animals as codenames and targeting gems.']
[You have detected 'snipers'.]
And the number, '2'.
[You've detected observer.]
[2.]
Ichijō Mirai: "...?"
Why do other snipers have observers!
