Chapter 1 - Redemption

"Back three years ago, I was not the person I am today. I could give you a lot of reasons for which you would adore me. Back then, at least, I had a feeling of being right or wrong about something. I knew deep in my heart what my family would feel if I could not meet the ambitions they had expected of me. I was well aware of what it takes to adapt to new circumstances. I had a life with the precious gift of inner solace. I had a belief in myself to cope with every matter of my life." He was talking without taking any pause, and then his eyes widened in curiosity to know my standpoint about his life story.

"Are you even listening to me?"

He said in disappointment.

"Yeah, I am all ears. Again, the same recurring gloomy tale of your life."

I responded with a poker face."

He rolled up his sleeves and sat cross-legged just in front of me, as if he was about to say something important and was not entirely sure of sharing it with me.

"You know, I am fed up with loitering around in university."

He asserted.

"I could make good use of my leisure time by studying or mulling over my future alone, far from the people I could not get along with. From now on, all the tasks we are assigned, I will try my best to get them over with in time. Except you, no one has ever even thought of befriending me, and now I have realized that it was for the good. I have found myself feeling better alone than in the company of them."
