I stood in front of an army of monstrous Yokai, all led by a beautiful woman with pale skin and long black hair.
She looked like a princess from an old historical drama.
"Oi, Yorimitsu-Sama! You didn't say an entire army was going to attack us!" I turned my eyes to look at a now familiar-looking man with ice-blue colored hair and an intricate-looking spear held in his hands as frost started to climb up his arms.
Urabe no Suetake, or Suetaka as I called him.
This was a dream, Another memory of Watanabe no Tsuna.
"Calm down Musclehead, Of course Lord Minamoto has a plan," Levitating on the other side of Suataka, A thin woman with long white hair spoke, a mischievous smile on her face as she poked his armored shoulder with a green wavy dagger, "When has he ever lead us down the wrong path?" Said Taira no Sadamitsu, or Usui Sadamitsu as she was more commonly called.
"Focus, both of you," I opened my mouth to tell my fellow retainers, my voice sounding deeper than normal.
"I'm trying!" Suetaka complained as more frost and ice crept up his limbs, starting to form a makeshift armor of magical ice. "But it's hard when Sadamitsu keeps poking me!"
"I'm not poking you," Sadamitsu said with a smirk, her dagger once again poking Suetaka.
The two of them were completely ignoring the army of Yokai, hundreds of monstrous-looking Spirits, all ready to march upon them.
And why am I also ignoring the army? Shouldn't I also be preparing to fight all these Yokai?
"Everything is going to be fine," All three of us turned to look at our leader, Magically enhanced Samurai armor covered his body, his purple ponytail dangled from under his helmet, With a bow on his back and his hand on his sword.
"Just get ready to chase that monster once she tries to run away," Minamoto no Yorimitsu took a single step forward, and then he disappeared.
Moving faster than even the trained eyes of Watanabe no Tsuna could follow, Yorimitsu crossed the field that stood between us and the army of Yokai, and appeared before the Princess, his body causing the winds to move by his sheer speed.
"Now!" Yorimitsu yelled as his sword struck down, cutting the head of the Princess off her shoulders, and causing a shriek of anger to sound out from where she stood.
We didn't need to wait for another signal as all of us ran up to where he stood, watching as the army of Yokai disappeared as if they were mist, an Illusion.
"The Army wasn't real?!" Suetaka yelled, running across the field in order to catch up with our Lord, His Frozen armor causing him to skate on the ground as if he was ice-skating.
"It never was," Sadamitsu kept floating as she moved, her feet never once touching the ground as magical winds pushed her forward, like a piece of paper floating in the breeze.
"How was I supposed to know that?!" Suetaka yelled.
"They didn't leave a shadow," I told him, and I wrecked my mind trying to think back to the short time where Tsuna did look at the army, only to pause and admire his quick deductions. The army's Lanterns didn't cast any shadows at the Yokai's feet.
"It was an Illusion from the very beginning," A softer voice said, causing Tsuna to briefly look at the kind-looking blonde man, His soft and gentle demeanor contrasted with his frightening fighting prowess and insanely powerful Sacred Gear.
"Boost" His sacred gear voiced, A red draconic gauntlet with a green gem in its center.
"You bastard! Yorimitsu!!!" We all turned to look back at our Leader, The body of the Princess disappeared as the illusion wore off, revealing a disheveled-looking woman, her Kimono was ripped and destroyed, her eyes large and manic, and lines of dry tears stained her cheeks as she breathed heavily.
I wanted to look away from her, her Kimono was open, revealing her naked breasts, but Tsuna didn't care about her modesty, he kept his eyes on her face and her legs.
Her many, brown-furred, spindly, large spider legs.
A Tsuchigumo. The Ground Spider Yokai.
Watching her illusion fail, one of the Tsuchigumo's legs kicked Yorimitsu, flinging him back at us, his body flipping mid-air as he landed back on his feet, joining us as we ran up to the Yokai.
Seeing as she was both injured and that her illusion failed, the Tsuchigumo quickly turned her tail and ran, her eight legs carrying her faster than we could run as she raced up the mountain behind her, ignoring the droplets of water that signaled the incoming rain.
The Chase was on.
----------------------------
I opened my eyes to find myself lying on a Tatami mat in one of my grandparent's guest rooms.
"Dammit, I was enjoying that dream," I whispered a complaint, noting the dryness of my throat as I spoke.
Standing up, I noticed the pool of sweat staining my bed, the humid summer air not at all helping.
I grabbed some clothes and went to take a shower, hoping to wipe the sweat off and hydrate at the same time.
As I locked the bathroom door behind me and looked down to take my underwear off, I noticed my sacred gear squirming as it crawled along my skin, the glow coming off of it barely more than a candle in the middle of the day, I wouldn't have noticed it if I wasn't looking.
"What's going on?" I asked myself, waiting to see if the Moth Tattoo was going to change once again, only to frown as it merely returned to its place above my heart, its light dimming as it returned to normal.
---------------------------
"How was your sleep Ken-chan?" My grandmother asked me as I entered the living room, She was already sitting on her sofa, reading the newspaper.
"It was fine Obaa-chan," I told her as I laid down on the couch, the soft pillows acting as a better mattress than the Tatami I slept on.
"That's good to hear," she said, flipping onto the next page of her newspaper, "Say, Ken-chan?"
"Yes, Obaa-chan?"
"Did Kaho ever teach you my dance?" Grandma asked, her eyes peeking at me from over her newspaper.
"No..." I answered.
"Oh my, I know what we're going to be doing this summer," Grandma closed her newspaper, her eyes squinting as she smiled at me, and I instinctively gulped.
------------------------------
I sat on the floor in one of the empty rooms of my grandparent's house, my Grandma sitting in front of me, as she placed a wooden box on the floor, gently pushing it toward me.
"I want you to take these," She smiled gently, her grey hair was tied in a bun and her regular clothes were replaced with an old Yukata.
I pulled the wooden box closer to see what was inside, before taking out the two object that were held inside it.
A Pair of Sensu fans decorated with an illustration of colorful flowers.
"I will teach you how to use them, And then we'll go buy you a Yukata of your own once you're done," Grandma said before she pulled another pair of fans from inside her sleeves.
"Now watch how I do it," She smiled as she stood up, and performed her dance.
This might not be hip-hop or Disco, but If my family is going to teach me how to do something, then I sure as hell am going to learn it!
I didn't have a family in my last life, So there is no way that I am saying no to this one!
I picked up my own pair of fans and stood up, waiting to follow my grandmother's instructions.
This summer vacation is turning up to be amazing.
