Chapter 6 - 5. Highway grave

I can still clearly recall

On a stormy night like this

The trees' ghostly shadows

From the late evening mist.

I can clearly remember

A shimmering stream of stardust

As it flowed by silvery-white

Like diamonds in the moonlight.

The memory stuck with me,

But can you still recall it my dear?

The slippery frozen highway,

The crimson colored fear.

It had been a decade

Since that fretful day

Still memories of long ago

Lingers around in shades of gray.

 ***

Roses white, roses red

Freshly from my flowerbed

Now decorates the grave

Of my beloved, Dave!
