The Guardians of the Galaxy—Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Groot, and Rocket—had just finished a grueling battle against Sakaaran mercenaries. The air still smelled of burnt metal and the echo of blaster fire. As they rested, they bid farewell to Michael Wilson and his comrades, who returned to their own dimension.
Peter Quill, his stomach growling, cracked open a can of food. The aroma wafted through the air, catching Rocket's attention.
Rocket's eyes narrowed. "Hey, you bastard, you got some can while we don't have one."
Peter Quill smirked. "Not my fault I'm well prepared."
Rocket bristled. "You!!"
Drax lumbered over, his presence like a shadow over Peter. "Let me have one too." he demanded.
Peter glanced at Drax, calculating. He knew better than to refuse the hulking warrior. "Sure thing, big guy." he said, handing over a can.
Groot, observing the scene, raised his voice. "I am Groot!"
Peter tossed another can towards Groot, who caught it effortlessly.
Gamora, arms crossed, sighed at the idiocy unfolding before her. "You boys are impossible." she muttered, though a faint smile played on her lips.
As the Guardians laughed and enjoyed their meal, a sinister chuckle rose from the shadows. Peter Quill's eyes darted towards the source, revealing a badly beaten Ronan the Accuser, who they had captured earlier.
Ronan's laughter echoed eerily.
"What are you laughing at, you bastard?" Peter demanded, his expression hardening.
Ronan's eyes glinted with madness. "It's amusing that you're all enjoying this moment of respite..."
Peter's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
Ronan smirked, his face twisted with malice. "You don't know the might of Thanos."
The air grew cold as Ronan's words hung in the silence. The Guardians exchanged uneasy glances, the weight of his statement settling heavily upon them. Even Gamora, usually stoic, seemed unsettled.
Rocket, ever defiant, barked, "Yeah? Well, we've faced worse."
Ronan's smirk widened. "You have no idea what's coming."
Peter clenched his fists, determination burning in his eyes. "We'll be ready."
Ronan's laughter grew louder, more unhinged. "You think you're prepared for Thanos? You're nothing but insects to him."
Drax's hand tightened around his dagger, his jaw clenched. Groot's branches bristled in silent anger. Gamora's eyes hardened with resolve.
Peter stepped forward, his voice steady. " Fuck Thanos, we've taken down worse than you, Ronan. Thanos doesn't scare us."
Ronan's laughter abruptly stopped, his gaze piercing into Peter's. "You will regret those words, Star-Lord. You and your so-called Guardians will know true agony."
Suddenly, a swirling portal appeared in the middle of them, causing everyone to freeze in surprise. And its energy crackling and warping the space around it.
Then from the portal stepped Thanos, his huge figure casting a dark shadow, followed by his loyal henchman, Corvus Glaive, holding his deadly cosmic glaive with its sharp blade glinting.
Ronan fell to one knee, reverence and fear in his eyes. "My Lord!"
Rocket's voice quivered with dread. "Y-you... you're Thanos."
Gamora's eyes widened in terror. "F-father..."
Peter Quill and the rest of the Guardians echoed, their voices trembling, "Father!!!"
Thanos's cold, calculating eyes fell on Gamora. "It's been a while, Gamora." His gaze shifted to the unconscious Nebula, captured along with Ronan and Korath. "Useless." he muttered disdainfully.
Peter Quill stepped forward, bewildered and desperate. "How? How did you come here through that portal?"
Thanos's lips curled into a sinister smile. "With the Space Stone."
Rocket swallowed hard, his heart pounding. Groot's branches bristled, his eyes narrowing with determination. "I am Groot." he growled, his voice filled with intensity.
Thanos's gaze swept over the Guardians, his contempt palpable. "Stop this futile resistance and surrender to me."
Drax, his rage boiling over, roared, "Fuck you!!" and lunged at Thanos with his dual knives, his muscles straining with the effort.
Peter Quill shouted desperately, "Stop, Drax!!"
Thanos, unimpressed and almost bored, said, "It's your own fault that you're about to die."
With a nod from Thanos, Corvus Glaive handed over his mighty weapon. The glaive's edge shimmered with a deadly light. Drax's knives struck Thanos's torso, but the Mad Titan's skin was like stone, barely scratched. Drax's eyes widened in shock and fear.
In a swift, brutal motion, Thanos swung the cosmic glaive. The blade cleaved through Drax's body with horrifying ease, severing him in half. Blood sprayed in a gruesome arc, painting the ground and splattering across the Guardians. Drax's eyes, filled with agony and disbelief, stared at Peter Quill for a fleeting moment before life left them.
Peter Quill screamed in horror and despair, "No! Drax!!!"
Rocket's face twisted in anguish, tears welling up in his eyes. Groot let out a heart-wrenching wail, his branches shaking with grief. Gamora's eyes brimmed with tears, but she clenched her fists, refusing to show weakness before Thanos.
Thanos stepped over Drax's lifeless, bloodied body, his expression cold and unfeeling. "This is your last warning. Surrender, or face the same fate."
Peter Quill's fists clenched, his heart pounding with a mix of rage and sorrow. "We'll never surrender to you, Thanos."
Thanos's cold eyes bore into Peter's soul. "Then prepare for your end, Guardians of the Galaxy."
As the tension mounted, the Guardians knew they faced an impossible battle. But with the memory of Drax fueling their resolve, they prepared to make their stand against the Mad Titan, ready to fight with every ounce of strength they had left.
The battle raged on, but no matter how fiercely they fought, the Guardians of the Galaxy couldn't leave a scratch on Thanos. The Mad Titan stood unyielding, his expression one of cold indifference.
"I told you, your attempts are futile." Thanos said, using the Space Stone to effortlessly deflect bullets and other attacks, sending them into portals that opened and closed with a mere thought.
Peter Quill, battered and bruised, struggled to stand. "Monster!!" he shouted, his voice filled with defiance and pain.
Gamora, clutching her injuries, leaned on Rocket, who was also wounded but determined to support his friend. Groot, despite the damage he had taken, stood tall and defiant, his eyes blazing with anger.
Thanos glanced at Corvus Glaive. Understanding his master's intent, Corvus lunged forward with terrifying speed. He delivered a crushing punch to Peter Quill's gut, knocking the wind out of him, then turned and kicked Rocket in the stomach, sending him sprawling to the ground.
Groot roared, "I am Groot!!!" and charged at Corvus, his massive tree limbs swinging with deadly force. But Thanos intercepted, slicing through Groot's arm with a swift, brutal motion. The severed limb fell to the ground, and Groot screamed in agony, the sound echoing through the battlefield.
"Groot!!!" Peter Quill cried out, his voice raw with desperation.
Thanos turned to Corvus. "Knock them all out and capture them."
Corvus Glaive nodded. "As you wish, my lord."
Gamora, summoning all her strength, stood and faced Thanos. "Not on my watch!!" she yelled, launching herself at him.
Thanos met her charge with a devastating punch to her face, sending her crashing to the ground, unconscious.
Peter Quill watched in horror as Gamora's body lay motionless. "Gamora!!!" he screamed, his voice breaking. Before he could react further, Corvus Glaive struck him down, his vision darkening as he lost consciousness.
Rocket, groaning in pain, reached out weakly. "No... not like this..."
Groot, with his remaining strength, crawled toward his fallen friends, but the darkness overtook him too.
Thanos murmured to himself, "I need that Power Stone for my goal." His voice, though low, carried a chilling determination.
He turned his gaze to the unconscious Guardians of the Galaxy, scattered and beaten. With a voice that dripped with menace, Thanos said, "I hope you cooperate nicely... or else things will get bloody."
Rocket, barely clinging to consciousness, heard Thanos' words and shuddered, the threat hanging heavily in the air. As darkness took him, the last thing he saw was the imposing figure of Thanos, a harbinger of doom and despair.
The Guardians were now at the mercy of the Mad Titan, and their fate hinged on their cooperation—or their resistance, which would lead to untold suffering and bloodshed.
As the Guardians lay defeated and unconscious, Thanos and Corvus Glaive stood over them, victorious. The Mad Titan's cold, unfeeling gaze swept over the scene, a grim reminder of the power and ruthlessness they faced.
