Chapter 183 - Chapter 145: The Dawn of Sun (13)

As I faced off against Electro, the crackling energy surrounding him made it clear that this was going to be a tough fight.

As Dodging Electro's electric blasts was like trying to dance through a storm. Every time he zapped at me, it felt like the air was buzzing with danger. I had to move fast, ducking and diving to escape each bolt. And you could almost smell the electricity crackling around us, making every move I made feel like it was through a lightning-filled haze.

I shot my webs between the walls, making bridges in the air for me to walk on. It was like building a safety net in the sky, giving me a solid path to move on. With each step, I pushed myself forward, using my agility to stay ahead of Electro's constant attacks.

Then I shot my webbing, hoping to ensnare him and slow him down, but it was like trying to catch lightning in a bottle. With a crackle of energy, he effortlessly shattered my webs, leaving me grasping at air.

"Come on, Spidey, think!" I muttered to myself, dodging another bolt of electricity. But no matter how hard I swung or how cleverly I used my webbing, it seemed like Electro was always use his lightning to destroy all of my webbing against him.

As Electro hurled another bolt of electricity my way, I braced myself for impact, but suddenly, I heard the unmistakable sound of gunfire. The shot rang out, hitting Electro's suit, causing him to stagger momentarily.

Caught off guard both Electro and I turned towards the source of the gunfire. There, standing tall and determined, was Loe Halloway, the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"You're Loe Halloway!" Electro spat out, his voice dripping with contempt as he recognized the man who dared to challenge him.

Chris, who had been watching the chaos unfold, couldn't hide his shock. "Loe, what are you doing here?" he called out, his voice filled with a mix of disbelief and relief.

Loe met Chris's gaze with a determined expression. "I can't stand by and watch you get hurt, partner," he declared, his tone unwavering.

Electro's fury reached a boiling point as he turned his attention to Loe. "You dare interfere with my plans!" he roared, his anger palpable.

But Loe remained undeterred, his focus solely on the task at hand. "Now, Spider-Man!" he shouted to me, signaling that it was time to take down Electro once and for all.

Thanks to Sir Loe Halloway's distraction, I seized the opportunity to close the distance between Electro and me, catching him off guard. With a swift movement, I wrapped my arms around him tightly, pinning his arms to his sides.

Electro struggled against my grasp, unleashing a surge of electricity in an attempt to break free. The searing pain shot through me, but I gritted my teeth and held on, determined to see this through.

"Get off me!" Electro shout, his voice laced with frustration as he continued to struggle.

Despite the pain coursing through my body, I managed to maintain my grip and replied through gritted teeth, "This is on the house."

With all the energy I had left, I grabbed Electro and threw him over my shoulder like I'd seen in wrestling matches. He flew through the air and landed with a loud thud. His face went from surprised to shocked as he hit the ground.

"Well, that's one way to make an entrance," I quipped, my voice dripping with sarcasm as I took a moment to catch my breath. Even in the midst of battle, a little humor never hurt.

As Electro lay on the ground, hurting, I acted fast. I shot my webbing at him, trapping him before he could get up. Then, I started swinging him back and forth like a pendulum, using my webbing like a rope. It was like a ride, but not one he'd enjoy.

"Feeling a bit dizzy, Electro?" I teased, keeping him swinging with my webbing. With each swing, he grunted in pain, unable to break free from my strong webbing.

Finally, as I brought our dizzying ride to an end, Electro lay sprawled on the ground, defeated and disoriented.

After the battle, I quickly used my webbing to secure Electro to the ground, ensuring he couldn't move. I knew he could potentially destroy my webbing with his lightning, but after our intense fight, he seemed too exhausted to put up much resistance.

As I finished webbing him up, Electro, or Maxwell Dillon, glared at me with tired eyes. "Let go of me," he muttered, his voice barely more than a whisper.

A few minutes passed, and it seemed like Maxwell was beginning to calm down. Chris approached him cautiously. "Max," he said softly.

Maxwell looked at Chris with a mixture of anger and betrayal. "You did this to me," he said, his voice gaining strength. "Because of You, I was beaten like a ragdoll, even though I'm not at fault here!"

Chris and Loe looked at me. I shrugged and said, "Hey, I was just trying to subdue him. I didn't have much of a choice."

Loe seemed to accept this explanation, but Chris sighed, a look of deep regret on his face. He then turned his gaze from the ceiling back to Maxwell. "I just want to fix this," he said quietly.

Maxwell shook his head, still struggling against the webbing. "No, it's too late. I'm on a path of no return."

As I saw Chris walking towards Maxwell, I called out, "Sir, you can't go there. Electro is dangerous!"

But Chris just ignored my words, his determination unwavering. I watched with a mix of concern and curiosity as he approached Maxwell, who was still struggling against the webbing.

Maxwell Dillon, panting and visibly exhausted, looked up at Chris with a mixture of anger and confusion. "Why? Why are you approaching me?" he demanded, his voice raw with emotion.

Chris knelt down beside Maxwell, his expression softened with genuine concern and regret. "Because you are my son," he said quietly, his voice filled with a deep, paternal sincerity.

(Chris thought of him as his son,) Maxwell's eyes widened in shock, his anger momentarily replaced by disbelief. "No, you're lying! If you thought of me as your son, you wouldn't have done those things to me!" he shouted, struggling harder against the webbing that held him.

Then Maxwell's face twisted in confusion and pain. He continued " You betrayed me, you framed me! You turned me into this... this monster!" His voice broke as he spoke, tears welling up in his eyes.

Before Chris could respond, Loe stepped forward, his expression stern. "It's not Chris's fault that you became like this. It was Chameleon who manipulated you."

Maxwell's eyes darted to Loe, a mix of shock and denial on his face. "What? What do you mean?" He struggled to process the revelation, his mind racing. Chameleon had been the one who told him about Chris's betrayal, who had helped him, who had created his suit. The very foundation of his rage was crumbling beneath him.

Loe took a step closer, his voice firm. " I'm not lying, Max. We investigated what happened back on November 12. We found evidence that it was Chameleon who killed your fellow scientists in the ElectroGenesis project. He framed Chris to manipulate you."

Maxwell's face contorted with anguish and disbelief. "No, it can't be... No! You're just manipulating me!"

Loe's patience snapped, his voice rising with frustration. "Face the reality, Kid!!!! You've been manipulated by Chameleon. Do you think we, S.H.I.E.L.D. and the heroes, go around manipulating people? Get a grip you stupid asshole!"

Maxwell's anger faltered, replaced by a deep, hollow confusion. "But... but..." His voice trailed off, the weight of the truth crashing down on him.

Then Chris, eyeing Maxwell with a look of deep regret, said, "I never stopped caring about you, Max. I want to fix this. NO...I will fix my mistake."

Maxwell's eyes filled with tears, his anger was replaced by confusion and sorrow "I don't know what to believe anymore," he whispered, his voice breaking. The fight drained out of him, leaving him vulnerable and lost.

....

[Mark and Emily side]

As Mark fought the terrorists, his movements were precise and powerful. "Take this!" he shouted, delivering a punch to a terrorist's gut before using his baton to knock out another who was aiming a gun at him. Both were subdued in quick succession, adding to the growing number of incapacitated foes.

Mark had already defeated 27 terrorists, his combat skills and tactical mind keeping him ahead of the chaos. On the other side, Emily dispatched her enemies with ease. Her speed and agility made her a formidable opponent, effortlessly dodging every bullet aimed at her.

One of the terrorists, panic evident in his voice, screamed, "M-MO-MONster!!!"

Emily's expression remained stoic. "No, I'm not the monster here. You are, with your senseless violence against innocent citizens." With a swift kick, she incapacitated the terrorist, leaving him unconscious on the ground.

Emily had already defeated 25 terrorists, her supernatural abilities making her an unstoppable force.

Mark glanced over at her, admiration in his eyes. "Good job, babe," he called out.

Emily smiled back. "You too, babe."

Suddenly, a voice from above interrupted their brief moment of respite. "So you are here, Nightwing and Lady Vamp!"

Mark and Emily turned their attention to the source of the voice and saw an eagle descending rapidly. As it approached the ground, the eagle transformed into a human figure. Both heroes recognized him immediately.

"Chameleon!!!" Mark shouted, his voice filled with a mix of surprise and anger.

Chameleon smirked, a look of smug satisfaction on his face. "Miss me?"

The tension in the air was palpable as Nightwing and Lady Vamp faced off against Chameleon. The battle with the terrorists had been intense, but this confrontation promised to be even more challenging. Mark and Emily prepared themselves for whatever tricks Chameleon had up his sleeve, their resolve strengthened by the chaos and destruction they had just fought through.

Then Mark's eyes narrowed. "You're not getting away this time, Chameleon."

Emily stepped forward, her eyes glowing with a mixture of determination and anger. "We're ending this now."

Chameleon's smirk widened. "Hmm, our story is still just beginning," he sneered, his voice dripping with arrogance. "Or should we conclude it right here?" he added, taunting them further.

Mark clenched his fists, his expression determined. "This Ends now," he said firmly..

Chameleon's taunting voice cut through the tension like a blade. "Oh, I'm hurt by what you said. I thought you two loved playing the heroes in these little dramas," he sneered, his words dripping with sarcasm.

Mark responded, his tone light-hearted despite the seriousness of the moment. "Chameleon, you love the drama, don't you? But this isn't Rehearsal. It's showtime, and you're about to meet the real stars of the show."

Emily smirked, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "That's right. And spoiler alert: the villain never wins in our story," she chimed in, her voice tinged with amusement.

Chameleon's smirk widened, his confidence unshaken. With a shake of his head, he replied, his voice laced with dark amusement, "We'll see about that."

"And for the record, I am the star of the show," Chameleon added with a sinister grin.

With that declaration, the stage was set for the ultimate showdown in their story. Tensions were high, and the outcome hung in the balance. Nightwing and Lady Vamp were ready to confront Chameleon directly, prepared to fight until justice prevailed.

Meanwhile

[Michael Wilson Aka Legendary Spider-Man]

Standing over the trio of Taskmaster, Kraven, and Doctor Octopus, who lay on the ground panting, I couldn't resist a moment of bravado. "Give up, you can't beat me," I declared, locking eyes with each of them in turn. But as the words left my lips, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to go very wrong.

"We know we can't beat you... that's why we have these," Taskmaster said gasped, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a syringe. Before I could react, he injected himself, and to my horror, Kraven and Doctor Octopus followed suit.

My heart sank as I realized what they had done. They had just made themselves even stronger, more dangerous than before. A curse slipped from my lips as I cursed my own arrogance.

"Shit, me and my big mouth," I muttered, bracing myself for the fight that was about to become even more challenging.
