Chapter 70 - Chapter 56 Slums (10)

Narrator Pov

As Spider-Man endured Sephiro's relentless assault, his body overwhelmed by pain and his mind on the verge of blacking out, a change began to take hold within him. It was as if a dormant power, hidden deep within his being, It was like he accessed a hidden power source that defied all logic.

With a fierce cry, Spider-Man struck back fiercely, his punch hitting Sephiro hard in the stomach. The force of the blow sent shockwaves through the air, knocking Sephiro off balance. He flew backward, thrown by the powerful impact of the punch.

Sephiro was shocked by the sudden turn of events, his eyes wide with disbelief as he struggled to regain his footing. Spider-Man, his body pulsating with raw power, stood against him, his eyes fixed firmly on Sephiro with a determined expression.

(Mc Pov)

Since I threw a powerful punch right at Sephiro's stomach. The impact was strong enough to send him flying back, giving me a moment to breathe.

The Spider-Man System in my mind chimed in, reminding me of a unique ability I possessed: the Brink of Death Boost. It's like a last-minute power-up that kicks in when I'm on the verge of death, giving me surge of strength to turn the tables in a dire situation.

[Brink of Death Boost: When you are in a brink of death, your strength is boosted to 10, granting you a last burst of power to potentially turn the tide of battle.]

"Sweet, with this, I can defeat him," I muttered to myself, the adrenaline still coursing through my veins. Then, with a sense of urgency, I asked the system in my mind, "System, how many minutes do I have before the side effects take over?"

The AI system's response echoed in my mind, sending a shiver down my spine. "Host, you only have 30 minutes left." The ticking clock added a layer of pressure to the already intense situation, pushing me to wrap up the fight quickly.

Feeling the urgency, I quickly decided my next move. I shot out web from my wrists, swinging towards Sephiro with newfound agility and speed. The webbing grabbed onto nearby structures as I swung towards my opponent.

Sephiro's eyes widened in surprise as he saw me charging towards him, the intensity of my gaze burning with an unyielding resolve. "What's happening?" he muttered, his voice tinged with uncertainty as he braced himself for my attack.

Before he could fully react, I landed a powerful kick right in the middle of his chest. sending him crashing to the ground with a resounding thud. The hit caught him off guard, leaving him dazed and open to attack.

But just as I was about to take advantage of the situation, Sephiro's next move surprised me. Using the energy from the vibranium in his heart, he unleashed a powerful shockwave directly at me. "Spider-Man!" Sephiro shouted, as he use the electricity towards me.

Despite the intense pain, I clenched my teeth and kept moving forward. It was my berserker death boost that let me withstand the electric attack, But I know that my berserker power will lose its effect in a minutes, causing me some side effects," I reminded myself, even as I pressed on through the pain.

"Bear the pain," I muttered through clenched teeth, determined to keep going despite the overwhelming sensation. With every step, I closed the distance between us, ready to deliver some strong blow before my berserker power wore off and the side effects kicked in."

"How could you withstand the pain, Spider-Man?" Sephiro's voice thundered with shock and anger, the sound echoing within the base nestled deep within the the slums.

Gritting my teeth to endure the burning shock of electricity surging through me, I pushed onward with unwavering resolve. Every step was a struggle, as if walking through a patch of sharp, prickly bushes, but I refused to give in. refusing to let the pain halt my progress.

"I am Spider-Man!" I shouted, my voice piercing through the crackling energy surrounding us like a thunderous roar. With all my might, I pushed myself forward, determined to bridge the gap between us despite the searing pain coursing through my body. Every muscle strained as I forced myself through the agony, refusing to let it hold me back.

As I got closer, Sephiro looked shocked and angry. His eyes widened in surprise at how tough I was.

When Sephiro's electric attack clashed with my counterpunch, it set off shockwaves. The punch combined with the electricity caused a sudden burst of energy. This energy didn't only hit Sephiro but also spread through the air, creating strong waves that moved through around us. Sephiro's body took the brunt of this energy, making him fly backward with a lot of force.

Time seemed to slow as he flew through the air, He looks like he's glowing a bit, almost like lightning, shining through the old, rundown place. Then, with a loud crash, he slammed into a pile of old barrels, the sound echoing through the room like a booming thunder.

Gasping for air and feeling the ache in every muscle, I held my position firmly. The echoes of our fierce exchange filled the space, a clear sign of how intense our confrontation had been. But even as I tried to recover my breath, I understood that the fight wasn't finished yet.

Sephiro was lying in a mess of broken debris, and I stood my ground, breathing heavily but refusing to give in. With a feeling of needing to act fast, I shouted to him, my voice bouncing off the dimly lit surroundings. "Give up, Sephiro! You can't defeat me," I insisted firmly. "It's not too late to turn things around."

But Sephiro's response was filled with anger and defiance. "Damn you, Spider-Man! You don't know anything!" he spat, his voice oozing with hatred. "The government... what they did to us, to my brother... that's why—"

He stopped talking for a moment, looking like he was trying hard to control his feelings. Then, with a fierce look in his eyes, he said strongly, "I'll do whatever it takes to get revenge for my brother, Aleksander!"

When I heard Aleksander's name, memories flooded back from my previous life in the Marvel Universe. In the Captain America comic storyline, Aleksander Lukin's village, the Russian village of Kronas, was burned down during the war when he was just a toddler. He survived, but harbored deep hatred towards Red Skull and the Nazis. After many years to come, he was resurrected by his wife, but with remnants of Red Skull's mind inside his own. Over time, Red Skull's consciousness took over his mind, turning him into Red Skull himself.

In this universe, however, Aleksander Lukin is likely dead, perhaps killed when he was just a toddler. It's a pretty messed up situation, isn't it? This could be a motivating factor for someone seeking revenge against the government, especially if they believe the government was responsible for the destruction of their village. It's a valid point to consider, given that governments often resort to atomic bombs during wars and may have been corrupt and neglectful towards declining villages like Kronas.

In that moment, I understood the depth of Sephiro's pain and the reasons behind his actions. War, corruption, and the cruelty of fate—these were the forces that had molded him into the man he had become.

As much as I felt for Sephiro's pain, I knew that his path was one of destruction and despair. I couldn't let him succumb to the darkness that consumed him. There had to be another way—a way to break free from the cycle of violence and find redemption.

With a strong determination, I moved closer to Sephiro, looking him straight in the eye. "Listen, Sephiro," I said firmly but gently. "You still have a chance. You don't have to let anger and hate control you. You can change."

Suddenly, Sephiro grabbed his gun in his pocket and pointed it at me. "Screw you, Spider-Man!"

Quickly, I used my webbing to disarm him, grabbing the gun and tossing it aside. I aimed it away from Sephiro, sending it flying towards Chris and his father for safety.

Just when I thought I had the advantage, a sudden rush of weakness flooded through me as the berserker power wore off. The side effects hit me like a ton of bricks, It felt like I was hit by a truck, my body aching all over and my vision getting blurry. I could barely catch my breath, and my muscles shook with fatigue.

Sephiro's face went from puzzled to understanding as he saw my sudden shift. A smirk formed on his lips as he said, "Looks like your power boost ran out." Then, with a sneer, he added, "Or maybe you were just using some drugs to boost your power, huh?"

I ignored his accusation, focusing instead on maintaining my resolve despite the odds stacked against me.

As Sephiro's insults hung in the air like a nightmare, the fate of their fight was still unknown. Would Spider-Man be beaten by Sephiro Lukins? The situation remained uncertain, with the answer balanced between who's winning or losing. Get ready for the thrilling end as this epic showdown races towards its climax! Stick around for the next exciting chapter!
