Chapter 100 - 86. Primal Beast Avatar

Canaan and the Celestial Strait beyond are ravaged by the creature's boundless dark energy. Shrine walls and cliffs crumbling ,with loose rocks raining down from the heights.

It's impossible to tell whether the beast lashes out at random or whether its longing for freedom drives it to shatter its millennia-old prison.

The Primal Beast Avatar, composed of countless cores... countless individual souls... forcibly melded into an unholy chimera.

"Paradise Lost!" Rei unleashed thousands of rays of light toward the Avatar.

*BOOOOM* *BOOM* The sound of explosions echoed as the Avatar was hit by Rei's Paradise Lost.

But as the dust from the blasts cleared, Rei could see the Avatar had already regenerated, the gaping holes from his attack vanishing without a trace.

"Hahhh... hahhh... hahhh…" Rei was panting, exhausted after fighting the Primal Beast for days without rest.

"So stupid... Who thought giving a boss this much regeneration was a good idea?"

*ROOOAAARRRRR* The Avatar retaliated, firing red energy orbs from both of its hands.

Rei dodged quickly, but the Avatar continued to bombard him with energy orbs. Suddenly, a massive eye opened on the Avatar's wings, firing a laser straight at Rei.

"What!?" Distracted by the barrage of orbs, Rei was struck by the laser from the wing's eye.

He was sent flying back several yards before he managed to stop himself using his wings, and flew back toward the Avatar—before it can fly away to another island.

"Damn..." Rei's body was covered in wounds from the repeated attacks, and his clothes were tattered after days of relentless battle.

The only reason he was still able to fight, despite taking numerous hits, was his own regeneration ability—though it was nowhere near as extreme as the Avatar's.

"Iblis!" Rei commanded his two crimson swords to attack the Avatar once again.

The two swords began to glow, flying toward the Avatar and slashing repeatedly, diverting its attention.

"If you can regenerate that fast, let's see if you can regenerate if I destroy your entire body!"

Rei's wings, which had been pure white, turned dark once more, signaling his use of Lucillus's power.

All twelve of his wings emitted a powerful dark aura, and Rei raised his right hand, channeling the energy from his wings into it.

His right hand began to swell with energy, glowing with an intense aura until silver light radiated from it.

"Axion Apocalypse!!" Rei thrust his hand forward, unleashing all the energy he'd gathered.

The attack condensed into a massive, powerful beam—silver at its core, surrounded by swirling black energy. The sheer size of the blast was immense, large enough to engulf the entire body of the Avatar, swallowing it whole in the destructive force.

The explosion ripped through the air, The massive energy from Axion Apocalypse collided with the Avatar, creating a shockwave that obliterated everything in its path. Rocks, debris, and dust filled the sky, making it impossible to see anything through the blinding light and the roar of destruction.

*BOOOOOM!*

The deafening sound of the explosion reverberated throughout the battlefield. For a moment, it was as if the world stood still, consumed by the sheer magnitude of the blast.

As the dust began to settle and the light slowly faded, Rei's breath came in heavy gasps. His wings fluttered behind him, exhausted from pouring out so much energy. He squinted through the lingering haze, trying to catch a glimpse of the Avatar.

At first, there was nothing but silence. The battlefield was eerily still, save for the distant rumble of falling debris. Then, through the thinning cloud of dust, Rei's eyes widened in disbelief.

The Avatar stood in the center of the destruction, its body almost entirely destroyed. Large chunks of its form had been torn away, revealing the raw, pulsing energy inside. Jagged pieces of the beast hung loosely from its frame, but what caught Rei's attention was at the center—a glowing core, barely protected by the remnants of the Avatar's body.

"There it is!" Rei, spotting the vulnerable core, wasted no time. With a swift motion, he surged forward, his yellow sword raised, ready to strike at the heart of the monstrous being. But just as he was about to land the final blow, the core began to glow with a blinding intensity.

Before Rei could react, a massive black orb materialized before him—a ability he knew very well.

"Tide of Chaos?!"

Without warning, the dark orb shot toward Rei, engulfing him in its malevolent energy.

"Arghhh!!!" Rei screamed as the blackness enveloped him. It felt as though his entire body was being crushed, sharp spikes piercing through his skin, tearing at his very soul. His vision blurred, and his movements slowed as the darkness pressed in on him from all sides. Every breath he took felt labored, and his limbs grew heavy under the crushing weight.

The Avatar, taking advantage of Rei's entrapment, began regenerating at a frightening pace. The shattered fragments of its body fused together rapidly, and the jagged pieces of its form restored themselves in seconds. Its once vulnerable core was now shielded again by layers of thick, avatar body.

Within moments, the Avatar had fully healed, standing tall and menacing once more, its glowing eyes fixated on Rei, who remained trapped in the deadly orb.

As the Avatar's regeneration completed, it began to gather energy in front of its body, the air around it warping and distorting under the sheer force. The purple energy crackled and twisted violently, growing larger and denser with every passing second. pulsing with chaotic energy that could tear through anything in its path.

The energy hummed with danger, radiating an ominous glow. It pulsated like a living thing, each surge of power sending shockwaves across the battlefield. the air seemed to vibrate with the intensity of the attack. It was as if reality itself was bending under the force of the growing sphere of destruction. Dark tendrils of energy snaked out from the orb, lashing the ground and reducing everything they touched to ash.

The buildup of power was suffocating, a storm of chaos ready to be unleashed at any moment.

"Ughhh!!" Rei growled in pain, struggling to break free from the crushing force of the Tide of Chaos. He could feel the overwhelming energy building up in front of him, but the suffocating darkness of the orb kept him blind to what was happening. The more time passed, the stronger the energy became, filling him with dread and urgency. His heart raced as he realized just how close he was to being obliterated.

"There's no other choice then!" Rei's voice strained as he prepared to unleash *Celestial Fusion Seven Trumpets*, the ultimate form of his power, which would bring him dangerously close to the true form of Lucillus. His wings twitched, ready to channel the celestial energy into a final, desperate move.

But before he could activate it, a voice—fierce and commanding—cut through the chaos.

"Pain Eternal!!"

"Ain Soph Aur!"

Suddenly, the darkness surrounding him shattered. Purple swords of light sliced through the Tide of Chaos from all directions, their ethereal glow carving a path of destruction through the black orb that had imprisoned Rei.

*BOOM!* The force of the explosion shook the air, and the orb began to disintegrate, each cut from the purple swords tearing it apart piece by piece. The crushing pressure around Rei vanished as the dark energy was obliterated, leaving his battered body exposed. His wings were tattered, and deep gashes marred his skin from the relentless battle.

As Rei's vision blurred, he started to fall. But before he go too far, someone arms caught him mid-air, lifting him up. The sensation of being carried was familiar, and the comforting warmth of the one holding him eased the pain, if only for a moment.

"Rei!! Wake up, Rei!!!" The voice was filled with worry and urgency, cutting through his foggy consciousness. It was a voice he knew all too well.

"Sandalphon?" Rei murmured weakly as his eyes fluttered open, locking onto the familiar figure of Sandalphon, who held him tightly as they flew away from the battlefield. Her expression was a mix of relief and concern, her wings beating powerfully as they distanced themselves from the chaotic scene.

Sandalphon carried the weakened Rei toward the Grandcypher, her wings fluttering with urgency. Meanwhile, Halluel and Malluel worked desperately to distract the Avatar, their graceful flight erratic as they dodged its relentless attacks. But above the scene, hidden within the clouds, someone else observed them quietly.

"Ckckck, Sandy and the singularity are taking forever. I almost jumped in to save him myself," Belle smirked as she watched from her vantage point.

After narrowly avoiding Rei's previous attack, Belle had retreated back to Pandemonium with Beelzebub. However, Beelzebub is not lucky like her because He had taken the full brunt of Rei's assault, leaving him severely injured and his body partially severed.

Belle had grown tired of listening to Beelzebub's constant complaints and decided to leave him behind to check on Rei. She knew that the Avatar would eventually appear after Lucifer's death. To her surprise, Rei had managed to hold the Avatar back for an impressively long time—an entire week, even while still can't use his full power.

"How... interesting," Belle purred, licking her lips thoughtfully as ideas began to swirl in her mind. Her eyes gleamed with excitement before a mischievous smile crept across her face. "Yes... that's it. I know exactly how to make things even more fun," she mused before disappearing from her spot, her laughter lingering in the air.

Avatar, the pinnacle of Lucillus's creation, far surpassed Lucifer in sheer strength and power. Yet, Rei had been fighting it alone for a week, without even fully accessing his true potential.

Back at the Grandcypher, Sandalphon had landed, carefully placing Rei onto the deck.

"Oi, is he okay? No, what am I saying—he's not fine at all! How long has he been fighting!?" Vyrn exclaimed, flapping worriedly as he saw Rei's battered condition.

"I'm not sure, but judging from his state and energy, probably the entire week since the cataclysm started," Sandalphon explained, her brow furrowed with concern.

"A whole week!?" Rackam shouted in shock. "You mean, while we were busy modifying the Grandcypher, he was already out there fighting!?"

Gran with his face full of concern turned to Lyria and Lyria². "What about it, Lyria? Can you heal him?"

Lyria, focusing hard, nodded slightly. "We're trying... I'm still not fully used to healing, but I'll do my best."

The atmosphere on the ship was tense as everyone watched Lyria and Lyria² pour all her effort into healing Rei.

Suddenly, Katalina, looking out over the battlefield, shouted, "Hey, Halluel and Malluel are in trouble! They can't hold that beast back for much longer!"

Io bit her lip in frustration. "How are we supposed to help them? We can't fly like those two!"

"Can't the Grandcypher get closer?" Eugen asked, turning to Rackam.

"Yeah, I can manage that—leave it to me!" Rackam responded confidently, gripping the controls.

Just as they were about to spring into action, Halluel and Malluel were struck hard by a blast from the Avatar, sending them spiraling downward, out of control.

"They're gonna fall!" Vyrn shouted in panic.

"Not on my watch!" Rackam slammed the controls, activating the auxiliary engine powered by Io and Rosetta's magic. The Grandcypher surged forward with newfound speed, positioning itself just below the falling angels, catching them before they could hit the ground.

Afterward, the others began to ask about Halluel and Malluel's condition.

"I'm sorry, but we're not strong enough to hold it back for much longer," Halluel said with a faint laugh.

"It's fine! Leave the rest to us. Both of you just rest here until you're ready to fight again," Gran reassured them.

"I have an idea!" Orchid suddenly spoke up, catching everyone's attention.

"I can make all of us fly to fight that beast. Then Rackam can stay on the Grandcypher and catch anyone who falls."

"You can?" Katalina asked, surprised by Orchid's claim.

Closing her eyes, Orchid began concentrating, calling upon the power of Luminiera.

"Luminiera, lend me your power," she murmured. Her hair turned bright yellow as she activated Luminiera ability.

"Oath of Blessings!" A radiant aura enveloped Orchid, glowing with Luminiera's energy. Soon, that aura split and spread out to the others.

The moment the aura touched them, they glowed with the same energy. Suddenly, two green Luminiera's wings appeared on their backs.

"Woahhh!" Io gasped in amazement, staring at the wings that had materialized behind her.

"I can control the wings and ensure everyone can fly. So, is everyone ready?" Orchid asked, her eyes still closed, clearly focusing hard to maintain control.

Hearing her, they all glanced at one another and nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, we're ready. Send us to the Beast!" Gran declared.

With Orchid's power, Gran, Katalina, Rosetta, Io, and Eugen lifted off from the Grandcypher, flying toward the Avatar.

"Don't worry! I'll make sure to catch anyone who falls! Just focus on taking down that beast!" Rackam shouted after them, ready to fulfill his role.
