Chapter 86 - 72. The Grand Finale

"Sandalphon." Lucifer said to Sandalphon, who was in front of him.

"What? Are you going to lecture me or something?" Sandalphon replied, sounding indifferent.

At the moment Rei, Lucifer, Gabriel, Michael, and Sandalphon were on another island where there aren't many people. Because of Rei's earlier actions, almost everyone on Auguste Isles was watching them all in the sky. Therefore, Lucifer used his power to quickly move them to a different island.

"You ignored my rampage and kept watch on Pandemonium this whole time... Am I so worthless to you that I'm not even worth confronting?" Sandalphon asked to Lucifer, filled with resentment.

Michael and Gabriel looked displeased when Sandalphon spoke to the Supreme Primarch like that. However, since Lucifer didn't react, they could only remain silent and observe.

Lucifer looked at Sandalphon with a face full of sadness and regret. He thought that if he hadn't neglected Sandalphon, none of this would've happened. All he needed to do was talk to him over a cup of coffee and explain why Sandalphon still didn't have a purpose.

But before Lucifer could speak, Sandalphon cut him off. "But I don't care about any of that."

"I don't care if you keep obsessing over that stupid duty you go on about without taking a break. If I'm not there, you'll just keep staring at that stupid sphere that shows the whole Skydom."

"I don't care if you strip me of my power or anything because I'm going to find my own purpose." Sandalphon continued, glaring fiercely at Lucifer.

Then, she flew over to Rei and floated beside him. "I'm going with him, whether you like it or not!" she declared, immediately hugging Rei's arm while staring at Lucifer.

"...…" After that, silence fell. Even Michael and Gabriel were at a loss for words.

But Lucifer's face right now is downright hilarious with his dumbfounded expression that, if Rei wasn't controlling his facial expression, he'd be laughing out loud.

"I see... I'm happy that you finally found your own purpose, Sandalphon." Lucifer said after a while.

"No, I still need to punch you. So Rei, like you said before, help me punch him." Sandalphon insisted while tugging on Rei's arm.

"What!? No, we will not let you punch the Supreme Primarch!" Michael said firmly to Sandalphon.

"Then are you going to stop me? Do you remember how I beat you before?" Sandalphon asked mockingly.

"What did you say!? Last time, you just caught me by surprise!"

After that, both of them kept mocking each other.

"Well, at least the problem is now solved, right?" Gabriel said to Rei and Lucifer while looking at Sandalphon and Michael bickering.

"Yes..." Lucifer replied. Even though there were things he still needed to say to Sandalphon, he could address it later.

But then, suddenly, the twelve wings on Rei's back started disappearing little by little. "Looks like your time limit is up." Lucifer commented, noticing Rei's wings fading away.

"Eh!? But then I'm going to fall!" Rei exclaimed as his wings disappeared, and he started falling immediately.

"Ahhhhhh!!" He's screamed while looking at the island below him. He didn't know if falling this high would hurt or not, but there's a first time for everything.

But before Rei could crash into the ground, Sandalphon quickly catched him by grabbing his hand.

"Are you okay?"

Rei looked up to see Sandalphon holding him. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for that. I thought today was the day I'd find out if fall damage can actually hurt me or not."

After that, Sandalphon slowly lowered Rei to the ground and let go of him once he touched down. She then landed beside him, waiting for the others to land as well.

Once everyone else landed, Rei immediately asked Lucifer, "What happened to my wings? I know I still have them, but I feel that I can't use them anymore."

"The energy that the other archangels gave you is still inside you, Rei, but your body needs time to process all of it. And after using your powers like that earlier, you'll definitely need more time before your energy is fully restored."

"I see... But can I use the other wings? You know, the black ones?"

"No. If you use them, your power will go out of control again. You need to learn how to control it. And as I said before, I can take you to the place where we archangels usually live to train you."

Hearing this surprised Rei. He didn't expect Lucifer to offer to take him to where the archangels lived. "Are you okay with that? You know whose body I'm currently in, right?"

"Yes, I know," Lucifer answered simply.

"How long is this training going to be? And what about Lyria and Orchid?" Rei asked.

"I have a cocoon where time moves faster inside. You will train there." Lucifer replied.

Hearing Lucifer mention the cocoon made Rei recall when Lucifer placed Sandalphon inside it for hundreds of years, even though only a year passed outside.

"As for Lyria and Orchid, both of them can follow you, but they will stay with the other archangels and will not follow you inside the cocoon. You know the reason, right?"

Rei knows, because he is an Astral and, as an Astral, he's immortal and didn't age once he reached his peak.

Rei didn't know if Lyria or Orchid would age or not. Lyria is the vessel of an Astral god and Orchid is half-Astral, so they might not age once they reach their peak. But he didn't know whether or not to bet on a 'maybe'.

"I need to talk to both of them first before I can make a decision." Rei said to Lucifer.

"That's fine by me, so let's meet with both of them." Lucifer replied. Then, suddenly, they were enveloped in a golden aura and disappeared from the island.

"Hmm~ hmm~ hmm~" a woman with long, jet-black, slightly curly hair hummed as she browsed through the clothing racks.

After a while, she found an outfit she liked, took it, and headed to the fitting room.

"Hehe, this one is good enough for me~." she said as she admired herself in the mirror, wearing the chosen outfit.

After that, she exited the fitting room and strolled through the clothing store. Instead of going to pay, she walked straight toward the exit.

"Thanks for the clothes~!" she said to the lifeless merchant's body lying on the ground.

The body looked skeletal, their form so skinny it's as if all their energy had been sucked out of them, leaving nothing behind.

"Because that guy destroyed my body, I needed to absorb a lot of people's energy to regenerate. But at least I have enough to actually change something~." the woman licked her lips as she continued walking to her destination.

But as she walked, a few people began following her from behind.

When she reached a narrow, deserted alley, a large Draph man blocked her path ahead.

"Where are you going, beautiful miss?" she heard a voice from behind.

When she turned around, she saw three people approaching her from behind. With the Draph man in front of her, there were now four men blocking her path.

"It's not your problem where I'm going, so get out of my way." she immediately said, sounding uninterested.

Normally, she would play with them and probably have some *fun*. But this time, she wasn't in the mood as she had someone far more interesting in mind.

"Wow, wow. Don't be like that, miss. How about we accompany you and go for a drink or something?" one of the men suggested, his eyes clearly fixated on her large, partially exposed chest.

Without wasting any time, she activated her power. "Goetia."

Screams erupted from the narrow alley, followed by the sounds of rapid, violent stabbing.

A few moments later, the screams stopped. The woman emerged from the alley, her appearance the same as before, without a single drop of blood on her.

"At least they didn't dirty my clothes." she remarked. Seeing that no one else was around, she opened a portal in front of her and stepped through it.

Not long after, she emerged in another place, where someone was waiting for her. The figure wore a hooded cloak that concealed their appearance.

The hooded figure immediately looked up as they sensed someone arrive.

"Belial? Why the new body?" the figure asked upon seeing her.

"No, no. You call me Belle when I'm in this form." the woman—Belle—replied with a smile.

"But you could say something interesting happened~." Belle continued as she walked over and sat down in front of the figure.

The man watched her carefully, his suspicion evident. He knew Belial's habit of being deceitful.

"Whatever. I don't care about your name. So, is that *something* going to interrupt our plan?" the hooded figure asked.

The figure never left this place, knowing Lucifer would surely sense him if he did. He needed the perfect moment to escape this place and kill the archangel.

"No, this *something* won't ruin our plan. More like it's going to make our plan proceed even faster." Belle answered with a sly smile.

The hooded figure still didn't trust what Belle—Belial, or whatever she called herself—said.

As long as his plan to kill Lucifer, unleash Lucilius's legacy, and absorb it goes smoothly, he didn't care about anything else.

"You don't need to worry about the plan; everything is going well~. The grand finale is almost here."
