"What the hell..." is all I can say when I see Sandalphon like this.
I mean, I know about different timelines in Granblue Fantasy, but I've never seen a male character suddenly turn female in another timeline...
Because right now, instead of the usual Sandalphon from the game, it's a female Sandalphon who's currently unconscious.
"So that's why Lucifer said 'take care of her' earlier..."
I can see that Sandalphon is breathing slowly since she is unconscious.
Her body is full of wounds, and her energy is depleting, making me certain she will disappear if I don't help her.
But the problem is how do I help her without using Lucifer's power?
If I use Lucifer's power, it might turn out like what happened with Narmaya and Vira...
I then glance over to where Lyria and Orchid are. I can sense that Lyria is still using Luminiera's power, meaning they're still fighting those monsters.
"Well, whatever. I can just let my future self deal with it." I comment as I kneel down and touch Sandalphon's body.
My twelve pure white wings begin to glow. "Alright, just little by little..." I start channeling energy from Lucifer's power into her body, bit by bit.
The wounds on Sandalphon's body begin to close gradually, but her body isn't surrounded by the golden aura like what happened with Vira or Narmaya.
But before all her wounds could heal, I stop to prevent her from attacking me as soon as she wakes up.
"Well, now I just need to wait for her to wake up." I say, removing my hand from her body and standing up.
I can't leave her alone too—afraid she'll run off somewhere—so I decide to wait by her side.
Meanwhile, where Lyria and Orchid are...
"Luminiera Blade of Light." Lyria, who's flying in the sky using Luminiera's wings, fires off multiple giant swords at the monsters.
Explosions continue for a while until everything finally quiets down. "Wow, I don't know how you did that, Lyria, but that's awesome!!" Io says, amazed at what Lyria just did.
Lyria, who is floating in the air, sees that no more monsters are coming to attack them, so she lands near Io and the others.
"I don't see any monsters left." Lyria says to them.
"Good job, Lyria." Orchid greets Lyria with a smile.
"I'm sorry I couldn't do anything..." Orchid suddenly says, feeling sad because she could only watch from behind.
"Don't worry, Orchid. You're still not used to using your powers like Rei and I do, so it's understandable that you couldn't help." Lyria says with a reassuring smile.
"Rei? Is that the name of the winged man from earlier? Where did you meet him, Lyria?" Aliza asks Lyria.
"Yeah, yeah, I've never seen him before. Did you meet him during your investigation?" Io adds, looking curious.
But Lyria and Orchid don't know how to explain that they aren't the Lyria and Orchid they know.
Before they can respond, they suddenly hear their savior voice. "There's Io, Aliza, the other me, and Orchid!" they hear Lyria's voice coming from another direction.
"Captain! Huh, Lyria?!?" Io, turning toward the voice, looks utterly shocked as she sees another Lyria standing there.
"Hah!? How did you two arrive here before us!?" Vyrn shouts at Lyria and Orchid.
Lyria then explains that she and Orchid got there using Rei's wings, and that Rei went to help the Primarch who's under attack.
"He's going there alone? We need to help him!" Gran says to them.
"Wait, wait, wait! Explain first why there are two Lyria's here!" Aliza suddenly stops them, pointing at both Lyria's.
After that, they walk to where Stan and Rei were.
During the journey, Gran explains to Io and Aliza that Lyria and Orchid are from a different timeline.
Hearing Gran's explanation helps Aliza understand why Lyria didn't recognize her earlier.
While they were on their way, I notice that Sandalphon is starting to wake up, which made me more alert.
"Hey, you. You're finally awake—" I began to joke as usual, but before I could finish my sentence, Sandalphon stands up and rushes toward me as if she was about to attack.
However, because her body is still weak and injured, Sandalphon immediately loses her balance and began to fall. "!?"
"Be careful!" I manage to catch Sandalphon before she hit the ground.
As I caught her, I can immediately feel how slender her body is and how soft her skin is under my touch.
Not gonna lie, she's probably softer than Lyria. I can also feel her moderately-sized breasts pressing against my arm as I hold her.
"You're still weak. Don't put too much strain on your body at the moment." I say gently to Sandalphon, who is now silent.
Hearing this, Sandalphon seems to come to her senses and started struggling. "Why do you care!? Let me go! You ignored me for 2,000 years, and now you suddenly care!"
"Sandalphon, calm down! I know you think I'm Lucifer because of my wings, but I'm not Lucifer! And don't move too much because your body is still injured."
But Sandalphon doesn't listen to me and keeps trying to break free from my grip, leaving me with no choice but to let her go.
However, since I released her suddenly, she loses her balance again and falls to the ground.
"..." Sandalphon goes silent again, sitting on the ground... I didn't know what she was thinking, so I decide to kneel in front of her.
"Listen, Sandalphon... I can't understand what you went through during those 2,000 years. But if you're really angry with Lucifer, there are other ways to handle it."
Hearing this, Sandalphon turned to me and glares sharply into my eyes. "Shut up! The proper revenge for him is to make him witness the destruction of the Sky Realm that he loves so much!"
I could only shake my head after hearing her words. "Sandalphon, you're forgetting that there's another way to get back at Lucifer for ignoring you."
Sandalphon seems interested when she hears my proposal and starts listening quietly. "You can punch him really hard in the face and beat him up for his actions of ignoring you." I said, giving her a thumbs-up and a smile.
"What?"
"Are you crazy!? Punching the Supreme Primarch is a very stupid idea!" Sandalphon stares at me as if I'm an idiot for suggesting something so absurd.
"No, no, listen." I then grab Sandalphon's shoulder and move closer to her. "He's not gonna suspect anything because he's not gonna think you're gonna punch him. So basically, you're gonna sneak attack him." I say, smiling because this is a great idea.
Lucifer is too focused on his duty to watch over the Sky Realm without paying attention to his surroundings, so maybe if he gets punched by the archangel he created himself, he'll snap out of it.
Besides, the omnipotent Bahamut never did his job either, so it's fine for Lucifer to slack off for a few days.
"It's still stupid... and he's also my creator. There's no way I'm gonna punch him..." Sandalphon still rejects my idea, but this time she notices my hand on her shoulder.
"So what if he's your creator? Listen, Sandalphon, it doesn't matter who the person is—if they ignoring you for thousands of years, even if they're your creator, they deserve to be punched really hard."
"I don't know what Lucifer was thinking when he created a cute and beautiful archangel like you but then ignored you for 2,000 years. Doesn't he deserve to be punched like that?"
I also remember that Sandalphon isn't the only archangel created by Lucifer; there's another one named Raziel.
But unlike Sandalphon, when Raziel was created by Lucifer, she was given a task, and now Raziel is traveling the world, filling her book.
"Wha—!? Cute? Beautiful!?" Sandalphon's cheeks turn red, and she looks panicked because she's never been complimented like that before.
Huh, that's a really weird reaction... Until I realized that my face is basically Lucifer's face... So I quickly understand why she's acting like that.
"Sh-shut up! A-and don't call me cute, or anything weird like that!"
Huh. Now she actually looks really cute with her flustered and blushing face. "What do you mean? I'm serious when I say you're cut.," I decide to tease her again.
"Wha—!?" Sandalphon's face turns even redder, especially because I'm right in front of her which doesn't help her at all.
Because of that, Sandalphon's eyes start darting around, not knowing what to stare at.
But unfortunately, I have to stop teasing her because I hear footsteps approaching. "Supreme Primarch! I see you managed to catch the traitor." I hear Michael's voice from behind me.
"She's not a traitor. She's just confused about her feelings, and she doesn't know what to do with them." I then begin to explain to Michael the reason why Sandalphon is acting this way.
I could see that Michael is genuinely shocked by what I had told her. "You weren't assigned a purpose? That's impossible. I've never heard of an archangel without one." Michael said, looking at Sandalphon.
"No, she actually knows her purpose." I say to Michael before Sandalphon could say anything to her.
"You were eavesdropping when Lucifer and his creator talked to each other about you, right? When Lucifer's creator told him that you were just a backup in case something happened to Lucifer."
"...." Sandalphon wore an expression of anger while clenching both of her hands against the ground.
"What!? How could that happen...?" Michael said while looking at Sandalphon who's wearing angry expression.
All archangels have a task or purpose for the prosperity of the Sky Realm. But the archangel before her only had the task of being a backup?
That's really messed up, even for them...
