Chapter 63 - 51. Casual Conversation

I notice Ferry's face is no longer pale as I gently push her bangs aside so they don't cover her eyes.

"What happened?" Vyrn asks me while observing Ferry's condition.

Meanwhile Katalina checking Ferry's wrist to confirm her suspicion. After a moment Katalina looks shocked. "I can feel her pulse!"

"What!? But isn't Ferry a ghost? How can she— don't tell me!?" Io starts to speak but stops when she realizes something and then looks at me.

"If you're wondering whether I revived Ferry or not, the answer is no... I only channeled Celeste's energy into her body to prevent her from disappearing. Because of this, the energy filling Ferry's body is trying to adapt by repairing and restoring her body to how it was when she was alive."

"I don't really understand all of that, but the main point is Ferry won't disappear, right?" Djeeta says to me with a confused expression.

"Yes, Djeeta... For now, I'll let Celeste help Ferry so her body can adapt to Celeste's power." I then envelop Ferry in the purple mist that emerges from my palm.

"What!?" The others look shocked as Ferry is suddenly shrouded in mist, which then starts to get absorbed into my body until Ferry disappears.

"Where did Ferry go!?" Vyrn asks me.

"Ferry has been absorbed by Celeste, like the doctor you fought earlier. But don't worry, Celeste won't harm Ferry. This is only temporary until she wakes up," I tell the others.

"And you don't need to worry either," I say, turning to look directly at where Drang and Sturm are hiding where they been observing us.

Meanwhile Drang and Sturm seeing that Rei is looking in their direction quickly hide even though they both know it's pointless.

"Well, looks like he realizes we're here..." Drang says to Sturm.

"Of course he realizes," Sturm responds, smacking her forehead knowing Rei would easily notice them hiding.

After a few moments, they peek out again, thinking Rei is no longer looking their way.

"Huh, they're already gone..." Drang says while trying to find them.

"Drang, just tell me already... What are you trying to achieve by coming here?" Sturm asks, as this whole idea is Drang's plan to visit this island.

Drang after hearing Sturm's question, stops searching for Rei and the others and sighs then turns to face Sturm.

"You see, I've always had a soft spot for my granny," Drang says with a nostalgic expression. "She always told me stories about how she came from a small island... But she was sickly as a child, so she left her family to get treatment. She moved to a whole other island... She tried returning to her home once she was well, but somehow... she couldn't get near the island." Drang recounts to Sturm while gazing at this island's scenery.

"She'd been living apart from her dear big sister the whole time, you see. So Granny was always worried about her."

Sturm understanding Drang's point then says "Don't tell me..."

"When I was a kid, she'd tell me all about her big sister. And I always wanted to meet her, if only once," Drang says, then looks back in the direction where Rei and the others previously are while smiling.

"But I'm sure they will meet again. After all, we can ask Rei for help. I'm sure he can do something with his strange abilities."

Sturm also looks in the same direction as Drang and smiles a little.

Rei and the others set off again for Golonzo to buy supplies for the Grandcypher. But on that island, a more curious encounter awaits them.

"So basically there's a girl inside you right now?"

"Cough Cough" I immediately choke after hearing Rackam suddenly ask me that.

After the issue with Celeste is resolved, we are currently having a meal together on the Grandcypher, waiting for tomorrow before we continue our journey to Golonzo.

"Yeah, can you believe it? Every time we go to a new island, he always manages to catch another girl," Rosetta says while smiling teasingly.

"Hahaha, at least you're enjoying your youth!" Eugen laughs and continues eating his food.

"I mean, I wouldn't complain either if I had a boyfriend who could actually cook this well," Rosetta says again while putting the food I cooked into her mouth. "Hmm~ so delicious."

"Well, at least I'm glad you're enjoying the food..." I say to Rosetta and then continue eating.

The others aren't joining the conversation because they are too busy with their food... especially Lyria, who hasn't stopped putting food into her mouth...

I don't know where all the fat she's eating is going because even though she eats the most out of all of us her body still so small...

"Hmm?" Lyria looks around as if she realizes someone is thinking something bad about her.

Seeing that, I immediately focus back on my food before Lyria realizes I'm thinking something weird about her...

"Ahhh, I'm so full~~" Lyria says after she finishes a lot of the food on the table.

"Yeah, I'm really full too," Djeeta adds, wiping her mouth after she's done.

After that, Katalina and Eugen start clearing the table and taking the dishes to the sink, where Katalina begins washing them.

Meanwhile, Rosetta goes to get some tea for us to drink. It's become our tradition to have something to drink together after dinner.

"Ahhh, so refreshing," Io says after finishing her drink.

We all sit there enjoying the tea, chatting a bit while waiting for Katalina to finish washing the dishes with Eugen's help.

Not long after, Katalina and Eugen finished washing the dishes and joined us to enjoy the tea while chatting with each other.

We only talked about trivial things, like what we are going to do once we reach Golonzo. But I just stayed silent listening to their conversation while trying to recall what would happen in Golonzo.

The only thing I remember is that on that island we will meet Noa, the primal beast of shipbuilding.

Noa is also the creator of Grandcypher if I remember correctly and the reason why the inside of Grandcypher seems so much larger compared to the outside.

"So Rei, can I ask you some questions?" While I was trying to remember the story in Golonzo, I heard Rosetta ask me something.

Hearing that, I immediately turned to her. "Yes, what is it?" I looked at Rosetta who is smiling at me.

"You know, I'm always glad that you're here. Djeeta and Lyria keep telling me how glad and happy they are after meeting you," Rosetta suddenly said to me.

"Rosetta? Why are you saying something like that all of a sudden?" Katalina asked Rosetta.

But Rosetta didn't answer Katalina and continued to smile at me. "Even me too. Since i joined this crew, every day has been enjoyable and there's always something interesting happening, especially when Djeeta and Lyria compete for your attention."

"Rosetta, you heard that!?" Lyria's face turned bright red with embarrassment because she didn't expect anyone to overhear them.

"See how cute Lyria is... I've always thought of her as my own daughter, and I don't want to see her sad. But when I see her smiling whenever she's near you, it makes me think that you might be the right person for her...

...especially considering Lyria's past with the Empire."

When Rosetta said that, I could see her expression turn grim and very angry as she clenched her fists tightly.

Lyria also stopped feeling embarrassed and now looked sad while staring down at her hands as she fidgeted with her fingers...

"You don't need to worry about that anymore Rosetta, because I won't let the Empire touch Lyria at all. Not even a single hair," I said to her with a very serious look.

"Rei..." Lyria after hearing my words seemed touched and looked at me with her sparkling eyes.

"Hmm, me too! I won't let the Empire take Lyria!" Djeeta said while patting her chest.

The others nodded in agreement with what we said. We all wouldn't let the Empire do anything to Lyria.

I could easily destroy the island where the Empire is located, but I still need them because they know where Akasha is, so I have to take Akasha back...

Rosetta smiled when she heard what I and the others said. "Yes, I don't doubt your ability to protect Lyria," she said with a slight laugh.

But suddenly, Rosetta's expression turned serious again as she looked at me. "And what I want to ask is, why is an Astral like you adventuring with them?" And instantly dropping a bomb.

Everyone went silent and still, as if they were processing what Rosetta had just said... except for me, because I knew that sooner or later Rosetta would figure it out since she is a Primal Beast.

The reason she only asked now is that she wasn't sure before, and besides, the last Astral was seen hundreds of years ago, so it seemed impossible for one to suddenly appear.

"What?... What are you talking about, Rosetta?" Vyrn asked hesitantly.

"Yeah... Rei is an Astral?? That's a really funny joke, Rosetta..." Rackam said to Rosetta as well.

"What Rosetta said is true, everyone," I interrupted their conversation.

"I am an Astral... More precisely, the body I'm using is an Astral," I told them.

At first, they looked shocked when they heard me confirm that I am an Astral, but after hearing what I said next, they seemed confused.

"What do you mean by saying your body is an Astral?" Katalina asked me.

Hearing that made me turn to Djeeta and Lyria, as they already knew my entire story. I had told them before, but I hadn't had the chance to tell the others, so now is the right time to do it.
