"You're damn tough aren't ya" Old man Doran paused to catch his breath as Belial stood unfazed in the middle of the arena.
"Isn't that enough for the test, human?" Belial responded.
"It more than enough, this is just a bit personal now" Doran said before dashing towards Belial only for a violent gust of wind to slow him down before Belial suddenly appeared behind him smacking him on the head with his staff.
"He's never been that excited about testing someone before" Dima leaned down towards Leila as they both watched from the side.
"Belial is quite.. skilled" Leila replied with a low tone remembering her own test.
EARLIER..
"Are you ready?" Doran called out from across the arena as Leila raised her staff.
"Yes, come whenever you're ready" She answered as Doran dashed towards her, she quickly responded with a magic barrier blocking his stab and leaping back to make some distance, after a moment she conjured a fireball launching it towards him as he barely ducked out of the way.
He imbued his sword with mana making it grow subtly as he slashed the air sending two projectile slashes her way; she managed to leap out of the way at the last moment but he quickly appeared above her going in for a strike; She rolled to the side launching a small ice spear that grazed his waist before he took a step back giving her time to stand up.
Leila managed a smirk between her breath as a magic circle suddenly appeared beneath his feet detonating with a large explosion.
"You're quite witty, but you lack experience" His voiced pierced through the smoke as he leapt ahead using her smoke to conceal his movement, in a moment his blade was right on her neck as she stumbled on her back.
BACK TO THE PRESENT..
"Hey human! I'm really getting bored here" Belial called out before Doran finally stopped, gasping for breath.
"So what do you think, Doran?" Dima approached the old man handing him a water bottle.
"I never thought the day would come where I'd enjoy a fight again" He took a deep swig before spitting it on the ground in satisfaction with a sigh, "Let's finalize the evaluation then"
"Ms. Lilith, Mana control: B, Battle sense: C+, Decision making: A, Endurance: B+, With some experience, I can see an explosive potential within you, I can already tell you have never been in a real fight before, Overall rating: B-Rank"
"Wow, only 1 in 10 get evaluated as B-Rank in their initial test, that's amazing, congratulations Ms. Lilith" Dima applauded with a smile.
"Mr. Belial, I was one of the most talented S Ranks of the kingdom, to say that I couldn't land a hit on you is an understatement, there is no need for me to break down the evaluation since I didn't get to test you properly, Overall Rating: S-Rank" Doran said proudly as he wiped the sweat off his forehead.
"Oh! I heard that S-Ranks are the strongest warriors in this guild, child! we can go look for y-" Belial tried to say before Leila put a hand over his mask.
"Yes, we can go look for my acquaintance now" Leila chuckled awkwardly, "When can we get our identification cards?"
"Right away, just follow Dima and she'll finish up the registration process for you" Doran replied, "Hey! if you ever have time to spar, stop by here later, I'd love to have a rematch!" He said to Belial.
"HA! Sure human! I love your spirit!" Belial replied with a laugh before they left the arena.
After a moment, Dima brought out two plaques, a white one and a silver one, "These are your hunter licenses, they also act as identification cards" She presented the white one to Belial, "Here is your Mithril plaque" Then she presented the silver one to Leila, "Here is your Silver plaque, please note that if you lose these plaques you will have to redo the whole process again, Happy Hunting!" Dima concluded with a smile.
"Hoooly, B-Rank and S-Rank, they are not greenhorns at all" Some mumbles started circulating the room.
"S-Rank? Aren't they so rare you'd rarely see them even in the capital?
Belial and Leila headed to the commissions' board only to find most of the commissions were low-level monster subjugation commissions for C-Ranks and below, Belial turned to Leila curious.
"Hey, why were you so loud and annoying with me and very calm with these people?" He questioned.
"I'M TRYING TO ACT CHARISMATIC SO THEY DON'T MAKE FUN OF ME" She yelled back with a muffled whisper.
"Oh, okay then, maybe I should do the same? but I like being myself more so I don't think I will" Belial chuckled, "Anyways, all of these missions seem to be for lower-ranking warriors, maybe we can ask the human at the front desk about something for us? but now that I think about it, that old human was right, you've never been in a real battle so maybe these commissions might serve well as training, but I heard the front desk girl saying that you can't take commissions below or above your rank"
"I'm not here to play hunter, Belial, I want to find my sister" Leila crossed her arms.
"But wouldn't it be good if you actually did some training? I'd appreciate if you can defend yourself if it comes down to it, I don't want to be a babysitter as you humans say" Belial replied, "And It's also better to earn these humans' trust than just pester them about your sister"
Leila nodded with a sigh, "Okay then, fine" she replied as they both made their way back to Dima, "Are there no commissions above C-Rank?" Leila asked.
"Unfortunately, there are no commissions for your ranks right now since Arpen's commissions are mostly low-level monster subjugation commissions, however, there is a dungeon nearby you can clear for the time being, but even at your levels It is recommended to bring a party of five to any dungeon" Dima explained, "The thing is, Arpen never had any hunters who were above B-Rank except the one you asked about earlier, so either people with difficult commissions request hunters from the capital or just don't put in commissions at all and rather go to the garrison"
"Oh dungeons, I enjoyed cl-" Belial tried to say before Leila hushed him again.
"What's the location of that dungeon?" Leila asked.
"It's in a mine deep inside the forest between Arpen and the Grimwoods' estate" Dima replied, "You seem to be well-equipped so you don't need to buy any equipment, however, It'd be best if you stock up on potions as well" Dima answered.
"I think we're good, thanks for your help, we'll be off then" Leila waved as she turned to head for the door.
"H-Hey wait a moment!" A voice called out from behind, Leila turned to see a young man who looked in his twenties, "A-Are you going to the dungeon?"
