Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : The Royal Decree

" A royal decree has arrived from the palace, Your Highness." ,said Rose, the princess's maid who was still panting and panicking after running from outside to the princess's bedroom.

And yet the princess who should be shocked and panicking the most, was actually sitting beside the window, still in her nightgown, drinking her morning tea and looking at the serene and peaceful view outside.

"Your Highness??" ,Rose asked carefully, wondering if the princess has heard of her at all, because of how calm she was, when it was the princess who should be the least calm person.

The princess finally paid attention to Rose. Putting the tea cup down on the table, Aella slowly turned her head towards her maid. Her face was blank , devoid of any emotion. With cool voice, she said, " The royal messenger is here? Let's not keep him waiting. Call others to help me to prepare and take me to him."

Rose was shocked at the princess who was vey calm and composed . Okay , Rose had to admit that, a royal must stay calm no matter the situation.

But to be this calm, when she heard about a decree coming from the palace, isn't something Rose expected. But then again, it was Princess Aella , she was thinking about, the princess known for her steel nature.

"Why are you still standing here? Didn't I tell you to get others to prepare me?" , Aella called out to Rose, startling her and bringing her out from her trail of thoughts.

" Forgive me, My Princess. I will go and get others right now." , Rose hurriedly apologiesed and scurried away to get the other maid to wash and dress the princess up.

Aella sighed as she watched as Rose got away, fully knowing what she was thinking. It was evident at the shocked expression on her face. Just like everyone else She also thought Aella was a princess made of stone. But then again, this was what she wanted everyone to think about her, no..... this was what she needed everyone to think about her.

Her trail of thoughts were cut off when she heard a knock on the door. " Come in." , Aella gave permission and the maids came in. Two of them came towards her , they were carrying a basin which was full of water and a towel.

Aella washed her face and was wiping her face with the towel when two other maids approached her holding two of her dresses. One of them was a dark blue dress with lace up front that covers the full neck another one was an off-shoulder pink dress which was a bit revealing.

"Which one would you like to wear, Your Highness?", one of the maids asked. Aella pointed at the dark blue dress and motioned for the maids to dress her up. After dressing her up, the maids put light makeup on Aella's face and did a simple bun.

After everything was done Aella looked at her self in the leaner mirror. The dark blue dress made her already porcelain skin stand out even more ,She was looking regal even though she dressed simply. A small smile of satisfaction slowly crept in her lips which made the maids, who were stealing a few glances at her secretly, hearts skip a beat.

" Your beauty blind my eyes, Your Highness." , Madam Julia said with a soft smile on her face , admiring the princess ,who was looking at her with a small smile of her own.

Madam Julia was probably the only person on earth who Aella always warmed herself up to. Still smiling, Madam Julia asked, " Shall we go, Your Highness?" Nodding in affirmation, Aella replied, " Sure Madam."

Aella started to make her towards the room , where the royal messenger and other people from palace were waiting , along with Madam Jula , Rose and other maids trailing behind her.

When she arrived at the living room where the royal messenger was , everyone stood up and bowed before her. "You may rise." , Aella said with a coolness yet with a authority in tone.

" Your Highness, Her Majesty, the Queen has sent a decree for you." , the royal messenger said , as he raised from his bow.

" Read the decree." , Aella ordered the messenger with the previous authority in her tone.
