"Where was I?" Zac repeated Kai's question, looking the man in the eye, imagining that The Vipers must have had people watching him.
"I was traveling with—"
Kai interrupted Zac's words, smiling. "Don't tell me you went to that amateur martial arts tournament you said you were going to for Amy. I know you didn't join that group and you even stopped going to the Strength Titans gym."
Zac closed his mouth, staring at Kai's defiant gaze, who was just waiting for him to flinch and make some kind of threat.
Zac eased his expression, looking at the front of the car as a smile formed on his face.
"I traveled with a girl." He spoke the truth, causing Kai to shift his gaze.
"Oh? Where did you go?" Kai changed his tone, feeling that this made sense.
This was what young people of Zac's age, and with money, would do.
