Five minutes after exiting the basement of the building he had infiltrated and robbed, Zac took down the last enemy standing between him and the retractable staircase that led to the attic.
He navigated through the building to where he had previously entered it. Before moving on, he surveyed his surroundings to assess the situation outside the building.
Inside it, six men were exchanging gunfire with nine adversaries outside. Zac noted those deeply engaged in the conflict. Additionally, 11 onlookers were monitoring the building, two of whom had a clear view of the roof in front of him.
Considering these two, Zac thought about killing them, but he faced two dilemmas. First, his long-range accuracy was unreliable. Second, he preferred not to harm potentially innocent bystanders—these two could be mere curious locals, not just bandits.
